  • Brandon Lopez & Danny Bohn
    Jul 8 2025

This week's episode of Deez Lug Nutz is dedicated to the memory of Virginia Austin who passed away last Thursday.

Episode 144 is on the scene with Boo Carlisle who is filling in for Julian as co-host this week alongside usual co-host Jody Freeman. Both hosts are coming back from the beach and Jody explains why he is down a cylinder following his beach trip.

Caraway Speedway held two massive events during Fourth of July week. The zMAX CARS Tour made their traditional midweek visit and it was Jared Fryar who took his second win of the season and shockingly, it is the first time he has won multiple races during a season on tour. The boys discuss the incident involving Mini Tyrrell, Landen Lewis and Landon Huffman, Ronnie Bassett Jr continuing to show consistency on tour, preparing to race for $50,000 in a few weeks and some of the other stories coming from Caraway.

The Pro Late Model event was chaotic featuring multiple red flags and a black flag late in the race. It was survival of the fittest amongst the leaders. When the dust settled it was Brandon Lopez who picked up his first career CARS Tour Pro Late Model win. Lopez joins us this week to discuss this and gives us a peek at his racing background and what his sometimes teammate Kaden Honeycutt told him during the race on Saturday.

Danny Bohn picked up his fourth Tour Type Modified win at Caraway on Saturday in dominating fashion. It was his first SMART Tour win there and his second of his career. Bohn picked up a new ride at the last event at Franklin County Raceway with Andretti Racing and he joined us this week to tell us about that and what else he's been up to. The boys also discuss the event itself and the stories coming out of it!

Franklin County Raceway had a big event this past weekend honoring Petey Caldwell. Dennis Holdren won the Mini Stock portion and Taylor Ransom picked up his third straight win in Super Streets. Julian was at the track on Saturday and got comments from both drivers. The rest of the winners are covered in the winners portion of the show.

Boo gives us a preview of this weekend's STAR Super Stock/MASS event from Dillon Motor Speedway while Jody gives you a peak on where you can come see your local short track in action including SAPS at Orange County and the CARS Tour Pro Late Models at Hickory.

The boys discuss this weekend's events in the streets of Chicago where SVG wins again on the streets of Chicago. The boys give their opinions on if there is a place for street racing for the biggest stock car series in the country and the brutal Cody Ware accident which drew ire from many folks about NASCAR being delayed with the yellow and for dispatching help to Cody who ended up being okay. The boys also preview another road course and more this week on DLN
