• S29E2: The Cost of Care with Ashley McGirt-Adair
    Jan 9 2026
Lady! This week Terri and Dr. Dom welcome powerhouse visionary Ashley McGirt-Adair to Cultivating H.E.R. Space to broaden your awareness to additional tools and resources available to you as you travel along your healing path. Ashley is a dynamic trailblazer who listened to her inner wisdom and allowed that internal voice to guide her as she built a thriving clinical practice and foundation geared towards helping Black women afford the mental health care we so often need. Ashley is the founder of the Therapy Fund Foundation, a nonprofit focused on eliminating barriers to mental health care in Black and historically excluded communities. She is also the author of the forthcoming book, The Cost of Healing in Silence: Navigating Racial Trauma and the Call for Culturally Responsive Care. Ashley keeps it real about the barriers that keep Black women from tending to themselves and how she found the courage to step out on faith and build the phenomenal service she’s offering to the world. Since slavery Black Americans have experienced a litany of traumatic events and have somehow managed to survive to this present day. The issue is that until we, collectively, address those numerous traumas and all of their manifestations we will continue to just do that – survive. Ashley and her team want us to thrive and they are committed to connecting Black women with culturally attuned and responsive providers who are equipped to navigate the complex and layered issues that we face. Lady, there are many forces in this world that are designed to weigh you down and discourage you from reaching your full potential. But, like the sea turtles making their pilgrimage to the water you, too, can make the arduous trek from being broken and in pieces to being in your power. Tune in to today’s episode for actionable steps and resources you can access right now! Don’t forget you can also book a consultation with Dr. Dom so that you can establish your team of providers ready to help you breakthrough to your next level. We love you for real, lady! • S29E1 - How to Be More Intentional With Your Time & Energy This Year
    Jan 2 2026

Lady! Welcome to 2026. We hope this new year is greeting you with restoration, renewal and an excitement for what’s possible in 2026. This week, Terri and Dr. Dom set the tone for what we hope will be an abundant, juicy year. One way we can do that is by being intentional with our time, our attention and our resources.

The ladies dive into a timely conversation about considerations to keep in mind while you are setting your intentions, goal setting and mapping out how you’re going to move through the year with ease and flow.

The end of the year is usually considered the triage period for burnout. It is often a time where we are working to recuperate and restore after jam packed year full of obligations, commitments, and responsibilities. The demands of the year can leave one feeling depleted. By assessing your capacity early in the year you get to define what taking good care of yourself looks like so that you can put the systems and boundaries in place to make sure that the number one person in your life is well.

Lady, we’re excited about what 2026 will bring and we hope you are too! Head to the Cultivating H.E.R. Space shop and pick up a journal or three so that you have a place to put all of your brilliant plans. We have all of the tools you need including latte mugs for your nourishing tea or bone broth, pillows for your comfort, and fly apparel to let the world know exactly who you are in our shop. And, if you are ready for a true fresh start for the New Year book a consultation with Dr. Dom to establish goals and set up systems so that you move with intention or attend Terri’s Get That Pitch Workshop so you can take your business to the next level.

See you at the top, lady!

  • S28E13: How to Close the Year With Intention: Releasing, Reflecting, Resting & Preparing for What’s Next
    Dec 26 2025

Hey lady! We made it! In this final episode of 2025, Dr. Dom and Terri celebrate all that has happened in this year so that they can honor it with sacred closure and use the lessons learned to fuel a productive, prosperous, and peaceful new year.

Lady, what are the rituals and practices that you do at the end of year that help you set powerful intentions to have the year you want to have? Are you a woman who doesn’t play about having the house clean, the Black-eyed peas and greens on the stove when the clock strikes 12 on January 1? Are you a woman who likes to review all that happened this year to reflect on what went well and what could use some improvement…and what just doesn’t need to happen no mo’? Are you the woman who believes in pressing forward without addressing the good and the bad of what they year brought? Or, are you the woman who shuts the laptop, snuggles in bed with your favorite snack, book, show and gets all of the rest you need?

We’re grown women so you already know that there is no right way to do life but Terri and Dr. Dom have some tips and frameworks that can help you sort through the year you’ve had so that you walk into 2026 with clarity and a sense of direction. Tune into this episode for journal prompts to walk you through your thoughts so that you’re off to the races when the clock strikes.

Cheers to a safe and restful rest of the year!

  • S28E12: The Zombie Apocolypse Is Not So Far Away with Jenna Chrisphonte
    Dec 19 2025

Lady, as we head into what is hopefully a quiet, restful holiday season why don’t you swap out your phone for a riveting new book that offers an escape into a world where zombies offer a glimpse into the power and beauty that resides in the Haitian culture.

Jenna Chrisphonte, a New York-based author and playwright, invites readers on a journey where zombies and voodoo offer a historical perspective of the strength and resilience of Haiti. Talc: A Hatian Zombie Story is a resonant and timely look into how multifaceted revolutionary spirits are and why these stories are important in the Black diaspora.

The current regime is trying to assert an oppressive and authoritarian hand in America to quell any desire for an uprising and they are banking on its citizens to be too tired, too scared, and too poor to fight back. Jenna’s work offers a perspective on how the tapestry of unique cultural experiences can weave together to create a resistance stronger than any dark force can conquer.

Jenna discusses how her Haitian upbringing allowed her to gather lessons from her people that can be of use during this time of radical restructuring of our democracy. But, if all of that feels heavy just allow Jenna’s strong prose and attention to her craft whisk you away to world where zombies roam. By the end, you may begin to think that they already walk amongst us. What do we mean by that? Tune in!

  • S28E11: Using the RULER Method to Navigate Emotions
    Dec 12 2025

Hey lady! You know we’re all about our gentle growth and continuous improvement over here so we’re excited to share an episode that will help grow your toolkit for whatever life may bring your way.

As we heal and process it’s common to notice where your childhood has yet again shaped your behavior and caused patterns that at one time seemed normal but now no longer serve you. Growing up in environments where our caregivers were doing the best they could with the tools they had means that we may not have always had the space to be your full self. And, if you grew up in a Black household it’s entirely plausible to not be allowed to feel your feelings and bury them instead.

But, we’re grown now and you are not only allowed to feel your feelings but you are encouraged to and there are frameworks that can help. This week, Dr. Dom and Terri present the RULER method, a powerful tool that can help you make your way through difficult and complex emotions so that you can remain in your sovereignty and stand in your integrity.

This five-step method can help you meet life as it comes, which will help you loosen the grip of needing to control life. Understanding your emotions offers you more choice in your experience, which can lead to feeling more stable, grounded and having increased capacity to feel the richness and beauty that life has to offer you.

    Using RULER in Real Life
    · Recognizing: “How do I know what I’m feeling? What signals does my body send?”
    · Understanding: “Where did this emotion come from? Is it layered with past wounds?”
    · Labeling: Talk about the power of language—using words like “disrespected” vs “angry.”
    · Expressing: “Who is safe to share this with? What’s an empowered way to show this?”
    · Regulating: Tools and tips (breathwork, journaling, therapy, movement, prayer, etc.)

    Quote of the Day:
“If you don’t know what you’re feeling, it’s hard to know what to do with your feelings.”

  • S28E8: Octavia Butler Tried to Tell Us with Dr. Susana M. Morris
    Nov 21 2025
Hey lady! We know that the daily onslaught of the news of these times can be distressing and difficult to ignore. There are genuine reasons to feel alarm during the current administration but we are blessed to have a deep history of having visionaries, luminaries, and trailblazers offer a blueprint of how to imagine brighter tomorrows.Octavia Butler is one of the most prescient artists of our time but her life was lived somewhat in obscurity, only coming to prominence long after her death. Yet, her writing gave way to world-building where weird, strange, genius Black women could write themselves into the future by being present with their experience. Dr. Susana M. Morris, a waymaker in her own right as a founding member of the Crunk Feminist Collective and author of Positive Obsession: The Life and Times of Octavia Butler, explores how Octavia’s life circumstances, disciplined writing practice, and passion birthed works that offer a clear-eyed examination of society and culture while also giving full permission for Black women to indulge our imaginations for a beautiful future that includes us!Join Terri and Dr. Dom as they have a spirited discussion with Susana about Octavia Butler and her powerful artistry. While Octavia made it clear that she was not a prophet; she was so deeply connected to her dreams and words that she manifested a body of work that has inspired generations of future trailblazers and wayshowers.
