Robert E Lee is a true character, and no its not the famous us army general! He is from north Queensland and is in our region for a local walk called Conquer the Corrugations. Along with local legend Charlie Earl they are walking from Inverleigh to Winchelsea on Saturday and back to Inverleigh on Sunday. It's all in the name of walking and talking. Getting alongside someone you may not even know and having a chat. We also chatted about north Queensland and the weather that has amazed everyone.

The Dennis family have a long history with the western districts of Victoria. Toms' family have been at Tarndwarncoort (Tarndie for short) near Colac since 1830s. Today we spoke with the straight-talking Mary O'Brien from Are you bogged mate. Are you bogged is a men's mental health charity that focuses on all men but particularly men from the bush. Mary built this charity up after a rough Christmas in her community. Mary wrote an acritical about men and how society communicates with men. It struck a chord and are you bogged was born. Some people are great at a conversation...Claire is one of those. Chottie brought Claire to the table, and I am very grateful. Claire is in a unique position where she is charge of preserving a magnificent wool shed on the Liverpool plains in northern NSW. An interesting business has emerged around these old buildings.

We had a great story today, Sandy Cameron from Meredith Goats Cheese. If you are doubting what you want to do in life listen to this one. I admire the ability of Sandy and his wife Julie to stick to their dream of living in the bush and earning an income form their patch. On building their business there were several times to go back to careers that would "take the pressure off" but they suck at it.

David "CD" Allen has been passionate about land and soil management long before it was a regular conversation in society. Because of his attitude he and his family, they have had the opportunity of being Australian McDonalds pin up farm for animal and land ethics. Great achievement.

The Prof has a proper stab at the negative aspect of mobile phones. For what it's worth I think he's right!

On Chewing the Fat today, we spoke with one the greatest golfers on King Island, Robyn Wilson. While having a meal in the local 9-hole golf course T.C was taken by the honour boards around the club. The women's club champions board stood out. From 1973 to 2015 R. Wilson had won all years but 3, an outstanding effort in and level of Golf. From a daughter of a prisoner of war to being involved in one of the greatest golf courses Ocean Dunes this chat was fantastic

We had a great chat to a mate of mine, Marty Pentecost from Rockhampton in Queensland. Marty is a smart, eloquent and above a great bloke. Marty has worked all through northern Australia and in many different roles. From Ringer to dealing with banks and financiers at the big end of town he has covered it all. This was a great chat, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Prof and I got talking about the success that is the Australian Women's cricket side. In particular an exceptional leg spin bowler call Alana King.
