  • Episode 4, "For with God Nothing Shall Be Impossible" Spiritual Warfare Series: Fasting
    Mar 4 2026

    Send a text

    Nothing is Impossible with God
Nothing is impossible with God. (Matthew 19:26; Mark 10:27; Luke 1:37). These are words of encouragement when we go through difficult times. And haven’t we all been there at one time or another in our walk with Christ? If you haven’t, keep living. But we must never forget what God has done for us and we must remember that what He has once done, He can do again and again. It is so easy to forget, but the Holy Ghost brings to our remembrance all things. John 14:26. In this and future episodes, I will share some personal experiences with you on how prayer and fasting thwarted attacks against myself, my family, friends and even people I did not know personally. Yes, I said “prayer AND fasting” because that is what I learned early in my walk with God from the very first year I truly committed my life to Him. The church I attended after I gave my life to the Lord, taught prayer with fasting. Let me stop here and give a caveat. What I am talking about is what we (my husband and I did as prayer warriors). We are not saying you have to follow our pattern of fasting but we encourage you to thoroughly research fasting so you do not do harm to yourself. This includes following and seeking appropriate medical advice.

    Okay, moving on.

The Bible talks about fasting in the Old Testament and the New Testament. In general, when you think of fasting, you think about denying yourself of food and water or just food. Some people expand the definition of fasting broadly to include denial of things that bring personal enjoyment. In the New Testament, Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights without food but we believe he had some form of water. (Matthew 4:1-2; and Luke 4:1-2). He understood the importance of fasting from the moment he was driven into the desert and the Holy Spirit compelled Him to fast and continue in prayer. It was only after that wilderness experience that He returned and began His ministry which included preaching, teaching, performing healings and miracles and more. (Episodes 7, this series). In the Book of Esther (Old Testament) the Jewish people fasted on two separate occasions in conjunction with praying to God to spare them from annihilation by an evil man named Haman. Queen Esther was not in the first round of fasting. (Esther 4:1-3). However, when she was asked to go before King Ahasuerus and ask him to spare the lives of her people (something for which she could be put to death), she asked everyone to fast three days and nights. (Esther 4:16). This included her maids who were probably not Jewish. And, of course, you know the outcome, the Jewish people were delivered and their enemy, Haman, was destroyed. (Queen Esther Podcast, Episode 7). We will tell you how to access these podcasts at the end of this episode. But, suffice it to say for now that fasting is Biblical and provides sound reasons for implementing it as a spiritual warfare weapon to answered prayer.

  • Episode 3, "Because He Loved Us" Subtitle: "The Board Meeting" Season 14: Spiritual Warfare
    Feb 14 2026

    Send a text

Greetings and welcome to our series titled “Spiritual Warfare.” This marks Season 14 of our podcast, "CGM Presents: In the Word." We are your hosts, Dr. Stephanie Wright and Dr. Charles Wright. We invite you to tune in to the first episode of this series to gain insight into the concept ofspiritual warfare and the topics we will explore.

The foundation for this podcast is the book Spiritual Warfare Manual: ABC to PhD by Dr. Stephanie Wright. Following our commentary, we will delve into selected excerpts from the book that pertain to today’s discussion.
Today's episode is titled, “Because He Loved Us,” with the subtitle, “A Board Meeting in Heaven.”

    Let’s get started.

This week, we celebrate Valentine’s Day, a reminder of the profound love that God has for us. As John 3:16 tells us, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. There is no greater love than that of the Son, who left His heavenly home to embrace humanity in flesh and become the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Through Jesus, the path for reconciliation with the Father has been beautifully paved.

Today's reading is taken from pages 24 to 27 of our resource, Spiritual Warfare: ABC to PhD. [Order copies of this manual online using the book title or Dr. Stephanie V. Wright.]

Thank you for being with us today. Please stay tuned as Dr. Charles Wright provides information on how to contact us and access other episodes of this podcast.

    Until next time.

This week, we are going to explain what the ABC to PhD in the book's title stands for and why we should not be intimidated by the term “spiritual warfare.”

In each episode, we will read portions from selected chapters in the book. We will not be reading the entire book.

Let’s go to our reading for today, Chapter 2, Spiritual Warfare Manual: ABC to PhD, pages 25 to 28.

Hello and welcome to a new podcast year for Charles George Missions’, CGM Presents: In the Word. My name is Dr. Stephanie Wright, and on behalf of Dr. Charles Wright and the Board of Directors of CGM, Happy New Year, and thank you for your support last year.

This year’s podcast is entitled “Spiritual Warfare,” and the resource for this topic will be the book Spiritual Warfare Manual: ABC to PhD, written by yours truly, Dr. Stephanie V. Wright. This book is relevant to the theme of spiritual warfare because it is based on my more than 50 years of experience and on Dr. Charles Wright’s more than 50 years of experience in this area. This book discusses the following topics on spiritual warfare: What is Spiritual Warfare?, Victory Through Christ, The Role of the Holy Spirit, Practical Tools for Warfare, Understanding the Enemy (Satan) and his tactics, Overcoming Fear, Personal Growth, The Power of God’s Word, and the Spiritual Rewards from Spiritual Warfare.

All of these are relevant to the podcast's purpose: “to equip you for strategic spiritual warfare.”

Let’s jump right in to Chapter 1, “His Covering,” where we will define spiritual warfare and a few of its attributes.

  • Episode 29, Christmas Season, "The Holy Spirit and Christmas"
    Dec 22 2025

    Send us a text

Hello, and thank you for joining us today for Episode 29 of our Christmas podcasts for 2025. My name is Stephanie Wright, and we are going to look at the role of the Holy Spirit in the birth of Jesus.

Christmas took on a new meaning for me in 2024. The Lord compelled me to speak about the Holy Spirit in November 2024 and to continue into 2025. During these preparations, the significance of the Holy Spirit at Christmas became more apparent to me. After we read what the angel Gabriel said to Mary when he announced that she would be the mother of Jesus, we will discuss the role of the Holy Spirit in Christmas.

We will close the podcasts by remembering Jesus’ purpose in coming into this world: to restore the relationship between God and man through his—Jesus’—death on the cross for our sins. Then, He rose from the dead so we could win over sin. That takes us to our closing point. Jesus was born so you could live eternally—forever—with God one day. If you have not received Jesus as your Savior and Lord, today would be a good day to do so. Romans 10:9 says, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved, that is, saved from a life of sinning against God to a life of serving Him and spending eternity with Him.
