  • I'm Over It | The Danger of Complaining | Bible, Bros, & Brew
    Feb 23 2026

It's so easy to find things to complain about--in fact, it's one of the most common (and unfortunate) tendencies of our human nature. Interestingly enough, complaining is also one of the first things we tend to do when we're feeling "over it all" due to the stresses and pressures of life. While it might be convenient to view complaining as just a way to vent or blow off steam, it's quite instructive to examine the scriptures to discover how God views complaining, and to seriously consider what He thinks about complaining. Spoiler alert: It's not great. In this episode, David, Jon and Phil discuss the fascinating story of Moses in Numbers 11, where he was challenged with dealing with the constant complaints of the people he was leading through the wilderness. Through this example (and other key verses), we learn the damage that complaining can do, not the least of which is the self-inflicted wounds it can cause. So grab your Bible and brew up your favorite cup of coffee or tea, and let's explore the Word together!

  • I'm Over It | What Are You REALLY Angry About? | Bible, Bros, & Brew
    Feb 9 2026

There are times in life when we might walk around feeling an undercurrent of anger in our hearts, but we might not even know why. Have you ever felt an underlying sense of anger, but couldn't quite put your finger on the reason? One thing is for sure--the anger didn't come out of nowhere. Interestingly enough, many mental health professionals consider anger to be a secondary emotion, often a by-product of deeper emotions (i.e., hurt, fear, disappointment, sadness, etc.) that are more difficult to pinpoint. While anger is not a sinful emotion (hey, even God gets angry), it can lead to negative outcomes if not properly identified and dealt with scripturally. In this episode, David, Phil, & John explore the fascinating account of Jonah, focusing on how the Lord mercifully dealt with Jonah's disobedience and anger, as well as some other scriptures that provide valuable perspective on how to deal with frustration and disappointment. So go ahead and brew up your favorite cup of joe, grab your Bible and a good notebook, and join us as we journey into the Word together!

  • I'm Over It | What to Do When You Feel Completely Burned Out | Bible, Bros, & Brew
    Feb 2 2026

We've all been there: Yep, we're talking about those moments where you feel completely burned out and just generally over it all. No matter how you categorize or label it--i.e., spiritual exhaustion, burnout, disillusionment, etc.--the symptoms are pretty much the same: A sense of discouragement, feeling jaded, battling an attitude of indifference, and other spiritual or emotional maladies that can really hinder our progress. While it's normal to experience these feelings every now and then, we have to be vigilant in terms of not letting them take root in our minds or hearts, as they can ultimately derail our journey with God over time.

📖 In this episode, David, Phil, & John explore several scriptures that address this very issue, which is proof positive that these types of feelings and temptations were just as common to the believers back then as they are to us now. So let's take heart in the encouragements and rock-solid principles offered by God's Word in regard to battling disillusionment and burnout. Make sure to grab your Bible and a good cup of brew (coffee or tea), and join us as we dig into the Word to discover these awesome spiritual treasures!

  • I'm Over It - Walking Away from God? | Week 2 | Bible, Bros, & Brew
    Jan 26 2026

Has church hurt affected how you think of God? As much as we might not like to admit it, this is one of the unfortunate effects that can occur when we've been hurt, mistreated, or offended by other members of the Body of Christ. While it's inevitable that offenses will happen (Jesus even told us so in Matthew 18:7), we must be careful to not allow those offenses to affect us to the point where we develop a root of bitterness in our hearts. In this episode, David, Phil, & John discuss the domino effect that church hurt can cause, and they share some key tips to help believers stay the course when offense and hurt tempt us to do otherwise. So grab your Bible and brew up your favorite cup of coffee (or tea), and join us as we dig into the Word together!

  • I'm Over It - Not Alone | Week 1 | Bible, Bros, and Brew
    Jan 19 2026

Tired. Jaded. “Over it.” If that’s you, you’re not broken—you’re honest. We kick off the year by naming the quiet burnout so many feel and tracing its roots through Scripture and real life: economic pressure, political noise, curated timelines, and the slow grind of unmet expectations. From Proverbs’ “hope deferred makes the heart sick” to Ecclesiastes’ raw diagnosis of meaninglessness, we unpack why so much striving leaves us empty and how God meets us right there.

We get practical about the traps that steal joy—unspoken expectations in marriages and teams, social media pretense, and the lure of quick fixes that never satisfy. Then we turn to a better path. Ecclesiastes lands on a bracing conclusion: fear God and keep His commands. We explore what reverence really means, why obedience is protective rather than punitive, and how aligning with God’s design restores clarity, courage, and hope. Truth isn’t just an idea to agree with; truth is a Person who sets us free. When we return to Him, even hard paths can overflow with goodness.

Along the way, we share honest stories, ask hard questions, and offer next steps to rebuild a hopeful life: reset expectations, reengage Scripture, seek wise community, and practice awe. If you’re disillusioned by the grind or haunted by comparisons, this conversation invites you to trade pretense for presence and hype for holiness. The world will keep changing. God will not. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs courage today, and tell us: where do you most need hope to rise?

  • The Difference Between Gratitude and Thanksgiving | Bible, Bros & Brew
    Dec 15 2025

As we've journeyed through the scriptures regarding the importance of being grateful, a thought-provoking idea has emerged: Is there a difference between gratitude and thanksgiving? Armed with the Bible and a healthy supply of coffee, David & Phil tackle this intriguing question, and the discoveries they've made are definitely worth further study. Using key verses from the Old and New Testaments, the bros offer this thesis: Gratitude is an attitude of the heart based on an inward acknowledgement and appreciation of who God is and what He's done, whereas thanksgiving is the outward expression of gratefulness to God for all that the heart experiences. So grab your Bible and your favorite cup of java or tea, and join us as we explore the life-changing power of gratefulness!
