  • Horizontal Abs: A Workout You Can Do Lying Down! Really!
    Jan 30 2023

I had a client once who told me the reason she was drawn to Pilates was because it was a workout you can do lying down. And I’ll be honest (I always am) she’s not only person who feels that way! So in today’s MINI EPISODE I’m sharing a guided workout/movement practice that you can do lying down! Don’t be mistaken though, just because I also said “movement practice” and it’s done lying down doesn’t mean it’s easy!

Give it a try and let me know how it goes! If it feels good and you’re looking for more, I have a 5 day mini course available here!

  • Sex Work, Findom, Comedy OH MY! With Sex Worker & FinDomme Lane Kwederis
    Jan 9 2023

Let's dive into the niche world of Findom with FinDomme Lane Kwederis. In our culture sex workers are subject to stigma, shame, and judgment and you know this is a 100% judgment free zone. Lane and I met as teammates on a musical improv team where we made up musicals together for years before I knew what she did outside of the theater.

Lane Kwederis is a comedian, sex worker, and the creator of the show Sex Job: A show that gives you an inside look into the life of a financial dominatrix. Lane can also be seen on shows like Broad City, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Master of None, and Netflix’s The Characters. Follow her at @LaneKwederis and @SexJobShow

    In this episode…

    • Sex work is a robust part of our culture, let’s learn about it before we judge
    • After years of friendship, how Lane opened up about her work as a FinDom to her friends
    • How she got into sex work and how not all sex work includes sexual intercourse
    • What is FinDom and what is a FineDomme?
    • How Lane’s experience as a performer, comedian, and dominatrix informs her self worth, sexuality, and confidence
    • Her new show! A comedy show about life as a sex worker

As always I’ve got your back, I’ve got your front, and I’ve got your undercarriage.

If you haven’t read Erin’s memoir Strung Out, it’s not too late! Erin paints the human picture of addiction and how our assumptions and judgment of addicts are influenced by you guess it, the patriarchy, and not humanity.

    In this episode…

    • We are all learning from our mistakes, always. As children and as adults
    • Addiction is tied to emotional regulation. The best thing we can do to help future generations avoid addiction is self-efficacy
    • Addicts are human beings struggling with the human experience
    • Boundaries vs tough love. We all need boundaries with everyone, but that doesn’t mean excommunication…

Erin Khar is an author and advocate known for her writing on addiction, recovery, mental health, parenting, and relationships. Erin knows first-hand the challenges of addiction recovery. At just 13, she began a 15-year struggle with heroin addiction. With 19 years of recovery, she has established herself as a respected voice in the national conversation about the overdose epidemic.

Erin's debut memoir, Strung Out , appeared on most anticipated lists from Apple Books, Goodreads, SELF, The Rumpus, Bitch Media, and others. Of the book, The New York Times writes, "Khar’s buoyant writing doesn’t get mired in her dark subject matter. There is an honesty here that can only come from, to put it in the language of 12-step programs, a 'searching and fearless moral inventory.' This is a story she needed to tell; and the rest of the country needs to listen.”

She writes the popular weekly advice column on Substack, Ask Erin, and her personal essays have appeared in SELF, Marie Claire, Salon, The Times of London Sunday Magazine, HuffPost, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, and others. She lives in New York City. Learn more at www.erinkhar.com and on IG @ErinKhar
