The hunters continue their desperate fight against the towering Cleric Beast. With fire spreading across its fur and oil flooding the stone beneath it, the bridge becomes a blazing warzone. Improvised weapons, flaming vases, rope-bound explosives, and a barely functional holy flamethrower turn the tide—but not without cost.

Allies fall. Jura is struck from the bridge and vanishes into the abyss below. The nun meets a brutal end in a moment of terrible survival instinct. Innocents cling to the hearse as the beast charges through flame and bomb alike, its charred body still refusing to collapse.

As grief, guilt, and suspicion simmer within the party, the line between salvation and damnation grows thinner by the minute.

With beasts drawn by the chaos and the city closing in around them, the hunters push toward the great bridge in search of allies. Along the way, strange symbols whisper promises of communion, unseen eyes watch from carved runes, and the truth of what it means to die—and come back—begins to weigh heavily on the group. When they finally reach the bridge to the Church District, opulence replaces ruin… but safety remains an illusion.

Episode 8 is a heavy combat episode set around the fountain plaza: the party faces a massive, brick-wielding gargantuan creature that stomps and slams the ground with an AOE, Gertrude delivers a brutal point-blank blunderbuss moment, Brittany jumps on the beast’s back and smashes it with a stone, Dominicus lands massive hammer strikes, and the group eventually drives the creature to the ground — then sets their sights north toward a gunpowder workshop.
