Resumen del Editor

The entire five-part saga now in one complete volume!

It's been over a year since the plague and the world is now infested with roving bands of zombies. Survivors struggle to hold back the tides of living dead on land, but the oceans are a safe haven from the chaos, or so Todd thought. All alone and struggling to deal with the grief of his wife's untimely death, Todd decides to risk his life helping another family escape the hell on earth that is the Zompocalypse. Little does he know this small act of kindness will change his life forever, and may just be the key to saving the entire human race.

Zompocalypse is a fast-paced action thriller, guaranteed to keep you wanting more. Set in a world of desperation and struggle, Zompocalypse pulls the listener into a post-apocalyptic story full of zombies, grim brushes with death, and the horror of being all alone in the worst era of human history. If you love the heart-wrenching battle for survival and strong characters of The Walking Dead, you'll love Zompocalypse.

Decent, worth the purchase

Pros- it's an omnibus so you get a good bang for the buck. Decent story line.
Cons- limited plot/ character development. Narration makes character very lukewarm, especially the female characters. Can't see them surviving long...

Exciting story!

Would you consider the audio edition of Zompocalypse Omnibus Edition to be better than the print version?

I was extremely busy when I decided to get this book, and on the go most of the time, so the Audio edition worked far better for me.

What other book might you compare Zompocalypse Omnibus Edition to and why?

I haven't read any other zombie books in several years, but this one held my attention.

Have you listened to any of Miles Taber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first of Miles Taber's performances I've heard. It was acceptable, though I did not care for his female voices.

Any additional comments?

This book had me listening at times that I usually reserve for other activities. I was very interested in the characters' progress throughout the story and found myself cursing or cheering aloud at various times. I'd highly recommend it!

Zomberific

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Todd & Clay They were the best charaters by far. The voice used for Laura was whiney and annoying.
Todd was a nice guy who wanted to do the right thing.
Clay is a little rough around the edges but knows how to survive,he is willing to do what ever it takes to keep safe Ruth & Paytons kids and the nanny Laura.

What does Miles Taber bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He did pretty well ,but Laura's voice was whiney and annying.Didn't really fit the character or the character's actions in the story.

Any additional comments?

This book is 5 parts of one story in one. It flowed together seamlessly, this book is for everyone. I think YA would like it as well as adults that don’t like a lot of blood and gore. It was well written and the narrator did a pretty good job with the characters except for on female character named Laura. My 2 fave character by far is Todd , a nice guy that wants to do the right thing for his small group.( Laura the nanny,Ruth mom who is out of her mind and Payton dad who had his own set of issues both Ruth and Payton were lawyers and the two kids Vicky and Rob.) Clay who is a little rough around the edges and he knows how to survive.
Mr.Toby Neighbors is a new Author to me but I like his style. Well thought out plot in a believable world, and good characters. The conflict was plausible and realistic in that situation.

Great story but the narrator detracts from it.

Would you listen to Zompocalypse Omnibus Edition again? Why?

No. Miles Tabor is a very monotone narrator and that takes away from the story. There is no emotion in his reading.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the story and its flow.

Have you listened to any of Miles Taber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Get a new narrator

I haven’t gotten too far into the book yet, but the narrator is difficult to listen to. He stumbles over words, you can hear him breathing, and there is not much inflection in his voice.
The story is good so far.

Disappointing

Let me start by stating I have never written a review about a book I did not like. After reading the positive reviews I felt I had to voice my opinion. First I found the characters very unbelievable and extremely annoying, none of them had a consistent thought process unless making wrong choices counts. The main character Todd was a spineless wishy washy idiot that should not have made it a week after the infection. The children’s parents where gutless cowards, I could not believe for a second that they could have made it on foot as far and as long as they did, not to mention what horrible selfish people they were for abandoning their children. Laura was a whining baby who had to question everything Todd did but felt safe with him and trusted him, make up your mind.
Characters aside the story was nonsensical and contradictory. One example of this is the infection, they talked about theories, one being it was something that happened before maybe during the dinosaur extinction event. However Todd points out that the infection didn’t affect animals, only humans. Then later in the story Todd kills a bitten dog to “prevent it from turning” WHAT? The Author also seemed to be trying to voice anti-gun views making a big deal out of Todd using his “assault rifle” to defend himself against pirates. He points out one of the pirates was a large menacing man but was reluctant to shoot him to defend Laura, the children, and himself. He also obviously knows nothing about firearms, describing the “Assault rifle” as having a “large” 223 bullet. In case you don’t know a 223 bullet is small .22 caliber which by no means can it be considered large. The Springfield XDM pistol also does not have a hammer so don’t tell me Todd checked to see if the hammer is back, do your homework it is very annoying to describe specifics of firearms when your description is wrong. I could go on and on and on.
Finally the narrator was very monotone and his voicing of female characters was like nails on a chalk board. To be fair I don’t think any narrator could have saved this poor excuse for a zombie book.
If the point of this book was to make me hate these characters and root for the Zombies then he did a good job.
