It’s only a week. Mel can pretend to still be in love with Finn for one week, surely. Except as the festivities bring her closer than ever to Finn and his family, Mel starts to lose track of which feelings are fake and which are for real.

Wow! So fun!

Wonderful listen on a long road trip. Great characters, a beautiful setting and who doesn’t love a Christmas story? Fantastic narration made the book go quick and I arrived at my destination, smiling. Happy Christmas, everyone.

My least favorite Emily Stone

Emily Stone is usually a dependable choice for a heartfelt, bittersweet holiday story, and I always look forward to her books. This one, though, didn’t quite land for me. The romance is told mostly through flashbacks, which can be effective, but we start with very little foundation before the characters are suddenly placed in a forced proximity situation that feels a bit abrupt. While the author clearly tries to give them depth, they never fully come to life, and the story, overall, felt a little tedious.
