Resumen del Editor

It's time to come out of hiding.

Frey has spent her life in a family of deceivers, a stand-in for her sister, manipulated at her father's command. Free from them at last, she is finding her own voice - and using it to question everything her family stood for.

Tally was once the most famous rebel in the world. But for over a decade, she's kept to the shadows, allowing her myth to grow even as she receded. Now she sees that the revolution she led has not created a stable world. Freedom, she observes, has a way of destroying things.

As the world is propelled further into conflict and conspiracy, Frey and Tally join forces to put a check on the people in power, while still trying to understand their own power and where it belongs.

With Youngbloods, master storyteller Scott Westerfeld decisively brings back his most iconic character and merges his Impostors and Uglies series into a breathtaking tale of rivalry, rebellion, and repercussion.

Amazing, Wonderful, I need more

The Uglies Series has been my favorite series for years and this is my first time listening to the books after reading them three or four times. When Youngbloods came out I immediately started it and didn’t want to finish it because I didn’t want the books to be over.

I love that all the worlds connect between the multiple books and the characters carry over and everyone has a connection. The worlds collide and Scott Westerfeld is a genius. Hands down would recommend this series and Scott Westerfeld.

Perfection every time. Always leaves me wanting more! I’m sad that it is over. May always be wishing for another story from the land of the uglies.

heartbreaking and beautiful

never felt so complete after a story. this world is broken and dysfunctional in the most raw and real and beautiful way. I'm so proud of the characters and how far they have come. I loved this book. it might not have been the ending I wanted, with Cole gone. but it was beautiful none the less.

Great book with a lame ending.

My only gripe was that the ending didn't feel like it was natural. Almost felt rushed even. I hope there will be just one more in the Uglies universe to tie up everything including Extras.

Satisfying wrap up

This seems to be the conclusion of the latest trilogy, and it wraps up in a satisfying way.

This book ruined Tally for me.

Uglies is/ has been my favorite series since I was young. I loved Tally. I loved that we got to see her again and learn about what happened in the time we missed. This book turns Tally into a villain and I hated that.

Frey, Books 1-4 · From Good to: 'Ehh, Who Cares?'

Frey started out in Book One by breaking out of a guarded house with simple items. She was clever, both direct and subtle, and quick thinking.

From there, we watch Frey get led by the nose everywhere she went. She was a girl with a magic knife.

• Book One -- At the end, Frey risks everything to rescue her sister.

When Frey tells her sister that she'll be with her soon, after she rescue her Love from execution, Rafi throws a fit and says Frey is being a disloyal sister unless she lets the guy die.

• Book Two -- Rafi steals the only other thing Frey has ever had, which is her name and reputation.

When Frey finally meets up with Rafi, Rafi isn't just unhappy to see Frey -- Rafi is pissed.

She is condescending and calculating on letting Frey know just how much Frey is in the wrong for trying to find her, and especially for trying to find out why Rafi has stolen Frey's name and reputation.

Except for talking down to her, Rafi barely speaks with Frey, who's gone above and beyond to try and be with her sister. And Frey doesn't seem to barely even mind.

• Book Three -- Rafi is clearly treating Frey like she's nothing but hired help and shouldn't be told anything.

Bottom line, Frey almost gets killed in a half a dozen ways, and risks her health and a lot of pain to ensure a bunch of people aren't getting poisoned.

Then at the last minute, Rafi joins the assault on Daddy Central, and to distract Daddy and win the proverbial day, Rafi uses a pulse knife.

(a pulse knife is a very unusual weapon in this society; Frey was taught to use the knife for years, and used one for over a decade. Yet, Rafi has somehow become a self-taught expert as good as Frey in a couple months).

Anyway, Rafi skillfully sends the knife flying straight into Cole's heart.

Later, she says that it was simply the only thing she could have done because she needed to distract Daddy for 1-2 seconds.

-- No chance Rafi could have sent her magic pulse knife to enter Cole at an angle to scrape along his ribs? It would have provided the distraction and medical help could have been there seconds later.

-- Better yet, Frey's body is stronger, and it's who Daddy actually wants dead. Rafi could have sent her magical knife into Frey's chest such that it doesn't kills her but looks brutal enough to distract Daddy for the 1-2 seconds Rafi said she needed.

All she needs is a distraction for 1-2 seconds, yet the only thing she said she could think of was to flatline her sister's love?

Recall that in book one, Rafi kicks off her "I'm going to take everything away from my sister" tour by wanting Frey to leave Cole to die.

It seems Rafi finally got her wish, but still... still... Frey actually begins to agree that nothing but a kill shot on Cole would have worked as a distraction

Seriously?

• Book Four -- we are back to hearing that Rafi definitely wants Frey alongside her (though, not as Frey, because Rafi has stolen that name already, good and proper).

And Frey actually ponders whether a few nice words from Rafi should make up for everything Rafi has done and everything she put Frey through!!!

Frey started out great.

A loving sister, independent in her own right, able to evaluate situations (physically, spatially, politically) and she was able to make things happen.

But ever so quickly after she is placed with Cole and a group of his military, she allows herself to be told what to do over and over, even by people who were clearly her enemy.

It's amazing how many sides Frey was on & how many groups' plans and orders she agreed to serve in just the first two books (and how often and quickly that changed):

-- First: Daddy Frey's

-- Then, Herself

-- Then Cole

-- Cole's military

-- The Rebels

-- And briefly, Rafi

Book two

-- Cole

-- Then Cole's scheming inner circle, where it took her far too long to realize she was being used

-- Then solely back to Rafi

-- Then the Lone Free City (the shattered one)

-- The Rebels again

-- She was captured by Diego and was told she would not be set free unless she served Diego's needs; so, she served Diego

-- She breaks free of Diego, and actually goes back to: Cole's scheming inner circle. And this time she knows, up front, that they're simply using her.

-- Then Rafi

-- Again, back to being okay with serving Diego

-- Somehow, she's back to Cole's group

-- After being left by Cole's group: Back to The Rebels again

At the end, I really couldn't care less what Frey did, nor Rafi.
