Famous Soap Star Returns to Her Small Town Roots

Wrangled Hearts is a stand-alone book. Narrated by Regyn Lee who had a hard time voicing multiple characters. She did justice by feisty Clara though.

Clara Rhodes left her small town of Pickett, Texas as soon as she could for the big city life in New York with the dream of making it big as an actress. She has been a success as a long standing beloved character in the daytime soap, Sunset Rose. She learned her father was sick with cancer and opted out of renewing her yearly contract with Sunset Rose so she could go home and spend time with her Dad.

She literally almost runs into Chase on her way home. It doesn't start them off on the right foot. Later she finds he bought a nearby farm and wants to buy off her Dad's herd of cows. Clara worries that her Dad will fade faster without a purpose and that Chase is trying to take advantage of the situation. Since she used some of her acting money to help her folks out of a tight spot with their ranch years ago, she is part owner and has the right to refuse selling to Chase. They keep getting thrown together since Chase is a frequent visitor with her parents. Over time, they learn their initial reaction to each other wasn't based on any truth. Nice, slow build romance with a few complications along the way to a HEA.

immature shrewish Clara

Clara was so hard to like right off. the bat! She was so full of her own self importance when she almost ran into Chase. Her"do you know who I am" was a major turn off immediately!!! Then, out of spite and meanness she refuses to sell cattle to Chase. How mature!! She believes a rival's lie before confronting Chase for his version ! WTH??? By the end of the story she finally matures and humanizes. Her philanthropic venture was very predictable but welcome. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.
