Acerca de esta escucha

With this book Immanuel Velikovsky first presented the revolutionary results of his 10-year-long interdisciplinary research to the public, founded modern catastrophism - based on eyewitness reports by our ancestors-shook the doctrine of uniformity of geology as well as Darwin's theory of evolution, put our view of the history of our solar system, of the Earth and of humanity on a completely new basis - and caused an uproar that is still going on today.

Worlds in Collision - written in a brilliant, easily understandable, and entertaining style and full to the brim with precise information-can be considered one of the most important and most challenging books in the history of science. Not without reason was this book found open on Einstein's desk after his death. For all those who have ever wondered about the evolution of the earth, the history of mankind, traditions, religions, mythology or just the world as it is today, Worlds in Collision is an absolute must-listen!

Very wide-ranging look at legends, myths, and history being tied to astronomical and geological theories.
Always enjoyable to throw a bomb into the middle of supposedly settled "science" and see it crumble in certain ways.

Unique way to synthesize history and science

This author presents scientific and historical evidence for the unsettling near miss of Mars orbit bringing it within 77,000 miles of Earth in 701 BC and on other occasions.

Eye opening scientific analysis

if you've ever had any doubts that you or being lied to and the truth is constantly being suppressed this book should end all doubts. written in 1957 this book was condemned by the established scientific community. as time has passed the same community has proven most of his theories to be true. it's a great read. hope I can find more of his titles on audible

this is a must read for the truth seeker

Great reading by the narrator and a priceless piece of literature that modern climate zealots should include in their required reading.

Excellent work and completely overlooked!

Mind blown! Velikovsky draws you into a new timeline that our religious and world leaders have tried to hide. Open minded people will be taken on a magic carpet ride….

Worth the listen!

If anyone wants to know what the mind of a true intellectual looks like, they need to read this book. While I do not necessarily agree with everything he says, it is refreshing to see an alternative view based on actual research of ancient records and peoples. This is the kind of creative thought missing from modern day academics. Just an amazing book!

Despite some of the claims or arguments that have been scientifically debunked since the decades this book was written, it still shows there are questions that have yet to be answered and questions that have been answered foolishly yet accepted (ie monotheism).

Many historical observers have been proven absolutely wrong with new scientific discovery and the opposite is also true. Many scientific claims that were ridiculed ended up being correct.

To call Velikovsky's work*pseudoscience" is demeaning and incorrect. Science often changes rapidly. That doesn't necessarily mean at the time it was all nonsense. It is people who refuse to accept new scientifically proven facts and cling to nonsense that are dangerous. There are people who still believe the earth is flat!

There are all sorts of writings and "documentaries" still being read by the modern world that are clearly works of fiction (Roman, Greek, Jewish, Christian, Muslim mythology, for example). If this book proves anything it's that those mental leaps should be harshly examined and criticized since it is those beliefs that I overwhelmingly create upheaval and destruction towards all living creatures on Earth.

Interesting perspective

This work not only challenges but shatters cherished dogmas of science and history and provides a comprehensive model for understanding a myriad of mysteries previously only vaguely and innadequately addressed.

Astounding work

I've taken 2 geology classes in college and I remember, multiple times thinking to myself that the explanation i was reading didn't make much sense. In this book, an alternative is given for much of geology, history, religion, and astrology. The author's thesis makes a lot of sense but we must always remember that not understanding something and receiving an explanation that we can wrap our heads around doesn't always make it right. That's why the big conspiracy theories exist. Does this book constitute as a conspiracy theory? I would say it falls under alternative history. I have a degree in history and I appreciate this book a lot because what we think we know about the past is limited to where we stand now and the sciences and religions of the world are not perfect and complete, but tailored for us, where we are now in time, when the solar system seems static and the stories of ancient people seem like fabrications. We don't really know what happened and basing our understanding on how things look now doesn't seem to be working.

well, it kinda makes sense
