Disappointed

I read this book years ago and loved it. It’s a strong heroine, lots of action, angels—but I kind of forget they are actual angels—just more of a “military” feel to the characters, and an interesting love story that has some bumps and twists. I was so excited to see an audible version, but what disappointed me was the choice of narrator. She does have a lovely voice—very calming. However, IMO, it is not a good fit for this genre. The story was kind of flat, and I wasn’t getting the emotions I was expecting. Even the sexy scenes seemed almost clinical. The female voices were ok, but I did not care for the male ones. I almost stopped listening early in, but decided to carry on since I want to read on with the rest of the series I never got around to. I still do highly recommend the regular version of the book, just not the audible one
