“Does the past change the future or does the future change the past?” Romance. Suspense. Mystery.
Set in the Ireland, early 1970s. Strangely, for more than a year, photo-journalist Natalie McKenna has been dreaming of another woman’s life. This no-nonsense 30-year veteran of armed conflicts arrives in Ireland prepared to document “the troubles” in Northern Ireland, but totally unprepared to fall in love with a man she was predestined to meet.

This is a story from a time and place with which I was not that familiar--the conflict in Northern Ireland. It is about two people, Collier and Natalie, who are involved in the conflict for different reasons, and whose paths are destined to cross. Because of her relationship with Collier, Natalie is eventually drawn into the struggle in ways she could not have imagined.
The concept of this book is intriguing on many levels. Suspense, romance, and human struggle are woven together. The story is beautifully told, and past and the present lives intersect. This leads to a lovely ending.
Ian Miller does a fabulous job narrating this book, but I think an Irish accent may have lent itself better to the telling.
Windward Home is wonderfully knitted together by Peggy Kopman-Owens.

I loved the main female character she felt real and the story was interesting. This is not a fast paced book but there was something about it that I liked. Can't tell you what it is because I don't know what it is. I usually hate books that give a lot of background story at the beginning, and on top of that it being slow paced is a no-no for me but this one actually surprised me.
I loved it.

I started off quite intrigued with this book, and although i tried, i was not able to enjoy it. I dont think the story was too bad, but i felt that the narrator did not fit in with the feel of the story. The narrator was also not bad, but i felt that his voice and the content of the story did not match well together. Maybe silly, but since the main character was a woman, i was almost wanting to hear the story through a woman's voice.
Overall, you are welcome to give it a try, it just didnt work for me.
