Wild Ride Review

The beginning of the story really grabbed me and I was very interested as to where this story was going. It seemed to slow a little bit for me and some things came really quickly that it was such a sudden switch. I couldn't really get into the characters, they seemed great but I wasn't really feeling Ryker, big bad alpha. The narrator did a good job but over time it just seemed like too much.

I liked the story

Bo and Ryker were great together. I loved how they had so much to teach each other. It really made for a great book. The storyline kept me engaged and very excited to see what was next. I did however have a hard time with the narrator. I could not get a connection with the story the way he was reading it. It fell flat for me as far as that was concerened.

Bo is a delightful character

Bo is an omega wolf, a EMT. Ryker is an alpha biker without a pack. All they have in common is that they are mates. When Ryker crashes his bike Bo comes to the scene to take of him. Ryker is an extremely dominating alpha. Taken aback at the omega that stands up to him, never having met a such strong omega. Ryker’s secrets don’t bode well for their relationship. When the truth surfaces something has to give and it certainly won’t be the omega.

The story was ok, it just didn’t flow well for me. I can’t tell if that was writing or from the narration. I’ve never listened to Barney Parkwynne before. While his gruff voice fit the alpha okay, his inflections carried the gruffness over to other characters. I really liked Bo’s feisty nature. He really carried the story.

New to me author, good story

this was a new to me author. The story was good, could have been a little longer. Beau is an Omega from a progressive pack. He's working one night when the ambulance he's working on comes to the scene of an accident, Ryker, an Alpha has wrecked his motorcycle. He's also Beau's mate. Ryker's pack is a bunch of "misfits" that no one else really wants. It had lots of steam, action and redemption. I had a little trouble with the narration personally. I didn't really feel the narrator fit the story. I've listened to to other stories by Barney Parkwyne and usually love them.

Enjoyable

It was a new Author and Narrator for me, but I'm glad I took the chance to listen to this one. I enjoyed the story and the characters.
I thought the narrator did a good job.
There were a few dark moments that took me by surprise, but they didn't take away from the overall story.
