Unprecedented in US history, this demographic will create challenges for these individuals, as well as for society. This book is a passionate exploration of the path ahead for "Solo Agers". Author Sara Zeff Geber takes listeners on a journey, starting with the choice for childlessness and then suggests ways in which Solo Agers can mitigate the absence of adult children by relationship-building and rigorous planning for their future.

As David Brooks observes, “There is one skill that lies at the heart of any healthy person, family, school, community organization, or society: the ability to see someone else deeply and make them feel seen—to accurately know another person, to let them feel valued, heard, and understood.” And yet we humans don’t do this well. All around us are people who feel invisible, unseen, misunderstood. In How to Know a Person, Brooks sets out to help us do better, posing questions that are essential for all of us: If you want to know a person, what kind of attention should you cast on them?

The often-surprising results of Levy’s science offer stunning revelations about the mind-body connection. She demonstrates that many health problems formerly considered to be entirely due to the aging process, such as memory loss, hearing decline, and cardiovascular events, are instead influenced by the negative age beliefs that dominate in the US and other ageist countries. It’s time for all of us to rethink aging and Breaking the Age Code shows us how to do just that.

Throughout my life I have done things my way, and they have always worked out - as if I've had luck in my corner. All of my optimism and bravado came to a crashing halt one cold December holiday night, when after an evening out with good friends, I suffered an accident. I was beaten with a pipe and later found under a moving train, resulting in quadriplegia. Given virtually no chance to walk again, I was devastated. But I also had hope, and lots of it. A fire that exists deep within, and has since childhood, burns on no matter the circumstances. I am here for a bigger mission. What would that mission now be?

Helping on plan ahead
I’ve been listening to Who Will Take Care of Me When I’m Old on Audible while walking or riding my bike and it’s such a fantastic book! As a CFP for the last 30 years, I find it thought provoking. It goes beyond any other book of its kind in helping one really plan ahead. Thank you for writing this. It had to be a huge undertaking with lots of research.

A collection of blog posts turned into a book
The book starts off with the compelling story and then turns into what seems like this book started off as a collection of blog posts. At the end of every chapter, and sometimes in the middle, the author will read out the full URL addresses of the different resources she highlights in that section.
The experience of that on audible is terrible, because you have to listen to author spell out all the WWWs for a list of URLs pertinent to that section which gets pretty tedious.
The print version is probably a much better resource.
It would be a much better book if there was a human story introducing every chapter… Unfortunately, there isn’t much of this.
