Great Books for Teaching Life Lessons to Kids

I had originally asked for this book for my granddaughter to listen to. After sitting down and listening to it, I almost wanted to make my 18 year old son listen to it...lol. The books are great for helping inspire kids to strive to do better for themselves. I highly recommend it!

The narrator did a superb job acting out the characters of the book.

A great lesson.

In this day in age where most kids want everything to be handed to them, it's nice to find a book that promotes gratitude for hardwork. This is a fun way for young people to realize that putting in the effort to get what you want will make you appreciate it more. The narrator did an outstanding job, especially with the kid voices. I highly recommend this book to parents who want to teach their kids what a good work ethic is. I was given a free copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily decided to leave this review.

Full of lessons

Great children’s storytelling. Wonderful quick story with lessons about money management, working for what you want, perseverance, practice, helping others, all without realizing you are being taught these things. Author and narrator are a good combo. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

Lesson Learned. In more ways than one.

Hard work pays off. This is a fun story about a little girl learning the value of hard work and a little stick-to-it-iveness. Much better than one of the earlier stories in this series.

The narrator did a great job.

Lesson in hard work

This was a cute morality tale about money and work. A child without money to attend her favorite band's concert finds out about tickets given to people who can play one of their songs on guitar. Without money or musical ability, the girl does chores for a guitar instructor in exchange for lessons, which she finds out aren't as easy as she hoped. This story bundles lessons about trading labor for money and working through a tough goal.

Cute children's story with a good message...

Whitney Wallace's Crazy Concert Catastrophe was a cute and fun story with a good message. Whitney keeps trying to buy tickets to a concert by her favorite band. She ends up learning to play the guitar, meets a nice teacher who teaches her several life lessons, and works very hard to reach her goal. Unfortunately, life happens, and, for a short time, it looks like all of Whitney's hard work won't get her those precious concert tickets. Luckily, everything works out perfectly in the end for Whitney.

I listen to this story with my 8 year old niece while driving her home one afternoon. We enjoyed both the story and the narrator. My niece especially related to Whitney because she also spends her allowance almost before she earns it. With excellent story-telling by Charles and a lilting, childlike narration by Markos, this story was a fun listen for all ages.

Mixed Messages

I liked getting to know Whitney. She has a wholesome family and is learning how to grow up and become responsible.
I liked the mannerisms and relationships Whitney has.
However, I felt there are mixed messages about how quickly one can learn to play a musical instrument. I also didn’t like how she was still rewarded for missing her deadline.

The value of working toward a goal

This story follows a young girl as she goes through the learning process of putting in the effort of working for something she really wants. Let's face it, this is not a natural skill in our modern age. This story can serve as a good teaching tool for parents and teachers in their efforts to instill in youth the value of working toward a goal and the vision and belief in themselves that they can reach for things they thought they might have no chance of obtaining.
