Love Me Some Fetch!!!

I like the twists in this one, and I have always loved to listen to Luke Arnold reading it. Left on a cliff hanger I hope book 5 comes out quick.

great edition to the series

not my favorite story of the series but still solid. lots of parrlells to current society in this one, not a bad thing just something I noticed this story felt like the author was trying to push a message/make a point.

Mr Arnold does it again

I find that most series start out strong and start to taper off with sequels... Not the case here. Each new novel has me hooked deeper and deeper into the story, world and characters that we have come to know and love so well.

the audiobook lives up to my imagination

Luke did an amazing job narrorating this. The fact that every characters personality lived up to how it felt when I read the books is truly amazing. can't wait for another release!

Stellar world building

Another fantastic entry in the Fetch Phillips series. I've been hooked since the beginning and I'll stay on this ride for as long as it lasts. The dark and twisted world where the magic has gone out hasn't gotten any less magical and a series of seemingly magical deaths has fetch back in action to find out what's really going on. You won't want to miss the end of this one!!

I continue to love this world

I love this series. I am giving this five stars, but this was probably my least favorite so far. I really want more progress towards getting the magic back, though of course that may not be in the cards at all. Having said that, Luke’s narration was very well done as usual, and it was still a good book, just didn’t quite resonate as much with me as the first few.

Satisfying next chapter

I love the griity nature of these books. Enjoyed this next chapter in Sunder and Fetch's story.

Les Miserables with no music and more speeches

This book brought back the noir, urban fantasy mystery that captivated me in book 1 and finally gave Fetch some growth, even if he had his feet dug in, resisting getting involved nearly the whole way. The mystery was unique, twisty, and provided a story that could stand alone. The series arc about The Coda killing all magic, however, is still present and inescapable, and listeners will get more out of this by listening to the previous books.

My biggest criticism is the amount of time spent moralizing on human proclivities for hate, power, and corruption, as well as the endless conflict between the haves and have-nots. The lecturing and speechifying was so heavy handed; towards the end, there’s an entire chapter where a villain monologues on how his machinations come from noble intention and I swear it lasted a half hour. Maybe it’s just the current times we’re living in, but I got angry and stressed listening to the story’s preachiness about the enablers and cowards who let the elite screw the masses. I know! I know! The powers that be are in it for themselves. Can we just get back to the gritty murder mystery?

Another Phenomenal Addition to the Fetch Phillips Archives

This book is the biggest change we've seen in Fetch throughout the series. Our man for hire still has his trade mark guilt, cynicism, and a touch of self-loathing but he also has a confidence and perspective that he lacked in previous books. The growth is amazing to see as he still grapples with his past, who he is, and who he wants to be going forward. The mystery this time round is full of twists, detours, witty comebacks, and doubts about what being on the "right" side even means. It's an amazing continuation of a city grappling with its identity in a world where the magic (mostly) died, the people are caught between accepting progress and the evils justified for it and a world full of magic that seems lost in the past. A must read for fans of the series, or urban fantasy in general.
