Where Is Mr. Botany? will delight young listeners between the ages of four and eight years old. The author shows how emotionally difficult it is for young ones who are left-handed in a right-handed world. Hannah, who is left-handed, learns how to make the best of an unavoidable condition: being left-handed. She finds a new friend who allows her to express her feelings, and now the story begins.
Next, Consuelo takes a subject such as the importance of trees to the environment and appeals to the young left-handed Hannah by creating a desire in the young girl to take care of the trees. Joyfully, Hannah’s focus is on what she can do rather than on what she cannot do. Certainly an excellent example for young ones.
