Acerca de esta escucha

The Duke of Ashbourn has a secret: he is the Berserker, the undefeated king of London’s brutal underground boxing ring. The nightly bareknuckle fights are his only release from the darkness that drives him…until he collides with the one woman he’s vowed not to touch.

Bess Pickford would do anything to aid her friends, even chaperone Ashbourn’s half-sister in Society. Though she’s drawn to the cold, stern Duke, pragmatic Bess knows he’ll never want her. She must look elsewhere for a scoundrel to ravish her…

When her search puts Bess in the path of The Berserker, Ashbourn’s tight control snaps and he claims one night with her as his prize. Masked and nameless, they surrender to a hunger too seductive to be denied. But one night could never be enough for the wild passion that burns between them—and when their secrets are bared, they will have to risk everything to face the world together.

Wow! This is definitely added to my favorites this! Great, witty writing! Perfect level of steamy 🔥 where you get butterflies and actually believe in the chemistry! Sooooo worth the credit. And of course MJW never fails to bring it to life! I lovedddd her take on the internal monologue as they were fighting their attraction! It made me laugh out loud!!

Loved this!! 💕🔥🥊🎩

Suffice it to say that I found Louisa Darling searching audiobooks narrated by Mary Jane Wells.
I enjoyed the previous book in the series and this one even more.

Very entertaining and makes you realize there's is always two sides to a story. loved the voices in this book better then other AI. well I don't believe this one is AI. very well put together book very good will most likely play again. and that should say everything.

I enjoyed both books in this series.

I am an avid listener but don’t always leave reviews. I feel compelled to leave a review so others will take a chance on this story. You won’t regret it. I spend a good deal of time traveling to appointments or in the hospital with a kiddo. I rely on stories to give me a nice bit of comfort while taking me on a journey. I loved this journey. No big plot twist or anything but I will say the end was a wonderful change in pace in comparison to so many other historical romances. I’m assuming the next book follows Lucy and I can’t wait, This author will be a one click buy for me.

A Lovely Favorite

The books was interesting, I really enjoyed it until the tired plot point of having the mains break up for stupid reasons at the very end. Of course, they get back together soon after, but it does make you wonder why authors can’t think of some challenge the mains can face together near the end instead of the obligatory break up (this happened in the last book too). And then one character’s art makes the FMC realize how much she loves the MMC (which also happened in the previous book). Then of course, the FMC realizes she was wrong! It just feels like lazy writing, that unnecessary back and forth at the end.

Mary Jane Wells is a great narrator (even though you can hear her swallow sometimes and they could just edit that out).
The only thing I really disliked was the voice she chose for the male lead. It was odd-sounding— almost as if she was trying not to move her mouth or had something in it— and the choice made the MMC sound robotic. I think she was trying to make him sound different than the previous book’s MMC. I understand that, but I’d rather the same (or similar) voice with feeling than this monotone performance.
(I worry the author is setting up Thorne and Lucy— and I pray she isn’t. Thorne was in the first book was terrible and the way he came on to Lucy, who is much younger than him, gave me the heebes. And he was horrific in this book too. A seriously detestable character.

A good entry

I loved this story. It was interesting and the characters had a lovely story. Their intimate scenes were appropriate to the story and well written and narrated. It is one best books in this genre that I have read in a while. The Characters are smart, and the plot of the story unfolds will. I appreciate it when the story doesn’t give me anxiety due to the characters being in threatening situations so I really liked this book. The narrator is the best in my opinion. She brought the whole story to life. (The voice she used for the main male character was not my favorite, but she gives each character their unique voice and I think it suited the character). Well done

Excellent story and narrator

I’m so in love with your storytelling! Realistic love stories. And I’m so excited for Lucy the Duke of Thorncliff’s story. I am looking forward to how she puts him into his place and continuously deny him. It will be amazing.

Wonderful story!
