Resumen del Editor

When a healthy, liberal U.S. senator suddenly falls ill at a political fundraising event, he is rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, but dies hours after being stabilized. Miami-based FBI Special Agent Daniel Falcone is called in to investigate. He quickly suspects foul play. As he searches for evidence, a torrent of domestic terrorism is unleashed upon the nation. An African-American church is bombed. A mass shooting devastates an event to commemorate the Holocaust. Mayhem tears through a Mexican-American charitable foundation and a deadly explosion rocks the downtown Manhattan Federal Building.

As the pressure mounts, Daniel must race to protect the veritable future and freedom of America. A pause-resisting thrill ride, which pits the very best against the very worst of the United States. When White Fades to Black is a provocative, multi-layered and wildy engrossing tale that will captivate, resonate, entertain and haunt, long after the story has been devoured.

Joe Conlan-my new favorite author!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. This is a very complex multi layered plot with multiple key characters. Very very good book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of When White Fades to Black?

There are a few that left me thinking I was glad this was fiction although knowing all the while that the described killings committed by the KKK in this book are only the tip of reality.

Which character – as performed by Tracy Thibodeaux – was your favorite?

I thought he did a great job with both this and the previous book (NAMELESS). When reading text his voice sounds like a commentator however when he reads dialogue he does change his style to fit the character.

Any additional comments?

Joe Conlan has a unique style. I've listened to both of his books and really like the multiple layered complexities he developes in his stories. In this book the antagonist is a member of the KKK who while on a mission takes time out to commit other murders along the way. He shows how he drags his friends down and is then able to hold things over their heads to enforce their compliance in committing more crime. This author will actually flesh out the victim's lives and their personal struggles before the killing. I don't want to spoil any of this book for anyone but an example of this early on is of a young girl who goes to a church carnival, she almost didn't get to go, found a ride with a friend who got hurt there and had to leave, friends father left her with the local minister whose family died mysteriously (probably a racial murder made to look like an accident). The minister takes the girl to his house for a snack but when he opens the cabinet a bomb goes off killing them both and others in the close vicinity. Anyway I Highly Recommend this book and look forward to his next, I hope Nameless will make another appearance since he was not caught in the 1st book.

Narrator kills a story already on life support

This........ Guy.............. Reads.............. Like............ A.............. Robot

Most of the book. He doesn't have a bad voice and speaks clear but his pauses are unnerving long.

I think this book may have some promise in there somewhere - But I couldn't finish.. Some good > But a lot of dull.

Quick review J
