Resumen del Editor

Everybody knows that goblins and fairies can’t be friends. But that never stopped Tinker and Bell.

Bellamy Merriweather Larousse isn’t like the other fairies at Harmswood Academy, with her giant wings and their magical dust. “Southern Bell” works as a barista at The Hallowed Bean to help pay her tuition and remains active on the cheering squad, despite her insistence on associating with the unpopular crowd. Every day is sunny in Bellamy’s world and every cloud has a silver lining. The only way to upset Bell’s stalwart optimism is to threaten one of her misfit friends…or try to take one of them from her.

Unbeknownst to everyone - including him - outcast Ranulf “Tinker” Tinkerton is about to be named heir to the throne of the Goblin King, making him ruler of his fellow Lost Boys and the labyrinthine city they inhabit. Now that the time has come for Tinker to leave Harmswood behind, will he be brave enough to share his feelings for Bellamy? It’s no secret that he’s held a torch for her since the fourth grade, but no matter how long they’ve been friends, goblins will always be allergic to fairies.

Or will they?

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Lots of fun.

Fun, cute story. Narration was also good. I listened to the whole thing in one day while packing to move, and it kept me going.

The Labyrinth all over again

**I received a copy of this audio for an honest review**

This novel is so freaking cute! In it we meet Tinker and Bellamy who are in love but they cannot touch each other because goblins are allergic to fairies. When Tinker is named heir to the goblin throne he is afraid that he will never see Bell again and he'll leave without telling her how he feels. Bell just realized how she feels for Tinker now that she knows he is leaving. When Tinker is taken away they must go to Goblin City to find him.
The narration on this was really good. I had never listened to a novel by this narrator before so it was nice that it was done well.

happy to have met Tinker and Bell=)

i loved this one! i especially like how the NFU authors are so inclusive!~ there is no racism, gender-ism, sexuality-ism or species-ism in Nocturne Falls. and i Love that!! i smiled and laughed a lot listening to this book=) i only wish the rest of the [real] world would take a cue, and get a Clue! if only everyone was as accepting as the residents and paranormals of the NFU...
maybe someday! until then, I'll keep listening and take away all the positivity i can, and try to redistribute as Much as possible!
as Always, mr Harrison's talent is most enjoyable, amazingly incredible, and so much appreciated! he alone is half the reason i spend the money i do on these stories!
props to ms Kontis and to All NFU authors! keep it coming and keep it Real!;)=))

Awe

I just adore Althea Kontis's Nocturne Falls Universe stories. They are sweet with a great story line. I also find it interesting how she focuses on the teenagers instead of the adults in NF. Also, B.J. Harrison performance is always superb!

Booyah! Fairy and Goblins!

When Tinker Met Bell is the first story that I read in the Nocturne Falls series. Firstly, I love the whole concept of the series. It is a set of novels and novelettes set in the same universe but written by various authors with permission. I think this collaboration is a unique way to bring readers back to the same world while gaining new perspective and giving the original author, Kristin Painter, a bit of time for her other books while continuing to provide for her fans. This was a brave and ultimately rewarding choice for fans and authors alike! Now that I’ve given my two cents about the series, let’s get into the meat of the review: the book!

This story was a surprise and a nice twist from what you would expect in a book about “Tinker Bell”. Ranoulf Tinkerton, Tinker to his friends (and everyone else), is a goblin. Bellamy Merriweather Larousse, Bell to all that know her, is a fairy. Tinker and Bell have attended Harmswood Academy in Nocturne Falls for years, and have been friends since they first laid eyes on each other. The only caveat to their friendship is that Tinker is dangerously allergic to Bell’s fairy dust, just like almost every other goblin. Suddenly, Tinker is named an heir to the goblin throne and is whisked away. What follows is a fun adventure with friends (including my favorite were-creature ever!). The plot was cute and followed through until the end for a satisfying conclusion.

This is the kind of story I would pick up in elementary school and middle school. There was great emphasis on friendship, empathy, and patience and this helped to deliver a light-hearted and delightful story! The characters were creative, positive, and multi-dimensional. I particularly loved the backstory and characterization of Sam and Natalie. Their story was imaginative and I might have to read more about it in Alethea Kontis’ short story “The Were Four: A Short Story”. Tinker and Bell’s story was sweet and demonstrative of the power of love and friendship to keep people together and fight through adversity. Not only was it a cute love story, but it found a way to mix in adventure and action as well! Booyah!

The narration was really good. B. J. Harrison did a great job bringing these characters to life in the audio and keeping the narration consistent. The diverse group of characters were distinguishable and lovely to hear about. The audio played faultlessly.

This audiobook was wonderfully fleshed out and executed, and this is probably a big reason why I’m left unsatisfied. I want more! More background on the goblin king. More history of the goblin kingdom. Most of all, what the future holds for tinker and bell! The book ended on a great note, I just never wanted it to end!

Quirky fun

Just found this author and love her quirky departure from some of the more tired, repititious stories. i will be on the lookout for more of her books.
