I love that we finally got lesbian characters. I know for IPB, Icehome and IPC it's impossible to do because the whole point of survival for the planet (and those series) is about procreation. But on Risda III that is not the case and I love that we got a FF relationship. Now here's to hoping for a MM relationship as well.

Cute short sci-fi romance. Well narrated. Sometimes you’re just in the mood for a quick fuzzy story. This fits the bill.

Sweet Desires

Cute story of a gay relationship. She saw her and desired to know her better. They discovered that they longed to have a relationship with each other. HEA. Great narrative.

Sweet sapphic love story

At 1.5 hrs, there wasn’t much time for anything but a simple story of two working class girls finding something special in each other. Allie was a little too “you’re perfect and I’m just me” insecurity and
Haina was a little too subdued. Also, I would have liked more sass, comedy, or action.
But, at least the conflict was blink and you’ll miss it. All in all, a lovely sugar plum of a novella.

Ruby's First Foray into FF Romance

Feel like several of these could easily be bundled into a short story collection (When She's....Pregnant/Merry/Fearless/Wary/Shy) as they are super quick listens, cute couples, sparse details and depth that lean on a single character trait, with sprinkles of town dynamics. Overall these are easy to listen to and feel more like a snack than a meal. Characters are here but are more one note almost like writing exercises. Still enjoyable but not they same layers and depth as some others in Ruby's series. These also feel lighter overall and do touch on tough topics but don't go into as dark situations as some of the other series. The couple is cute and I was thrilled to see Ruby branching into sapphic romance but this was so short I wondered if she wasn't as comfortable or confident writing it. We don't even get both POVs which is not the case for any of the other shorts. Because the story is so short all the emotional build up feels more forced than earned, and this one did feel weaker than the others due to how short and one sided the story was. Which is a shame because the characters, especially Haina are great and I would love to see more. Again still an easy listen for anyone who enjoys the series.
