Resumen del Editor
New York Times best seller Cantrell’s emotive storytelling shines in this tale of new beginnings, past secrets, and finding a way forward.
Millie’s mind is racing and there seems to be no clear line between right and wrong. Either path leads to pain, and she’ll do anything to protect the ones she loves. So she decides to bury the truth and begin again, helping Bump launch a ranch in the wilds of Colorado. But just when she thinks she’s left her old Mississippi life behind, the facts surface in the most challenging way.
That’s when Millie’s grandmother, Oka, arrives to help. Relying on her age-old Choctaw traditions, Oka teaches Millie the power of second chances. Millie resists, believing redemption is about as likely as moving mountains. But Oka stands strong, modeling forgiveness as the only true path to freedom.
Together, Bump, Millie, and Oka fight against all odds to create a sustainable ranch, all while learning that the important lessons of their pasts can be used to build a beautiful future.
Praise for When Mountains Move:
“Julie Cantrell’s When Mountains Move is a classic American novel of risk-taking, struggle, renewal, and redemption. This book took my breath away. If you loved Ms. Cantrell’s debut novel, Into the Free, you will treasure this sequel.” (Amy Hill Hearth, New York Times best-selling author of Having Our Say)
- Sequel to the New York Times best seller Into the Free
- Book length: approximately 90,000 words

She can leave behind the memory of the past winter; of her sickly ma giving birth to a baby sister who cries endlessly; of the terrifying visions she saw as her sanity began to slip, the victim of cabin fever; and, most of all, of the boy she has been secretly meeting with as a distraction from her pain. The boy whose baby she now carries.

It is 1940. France has fallen, and only a narrow strip of sea lies between Great Britain and invasion. The war could go either way, and everyone must do their bit. Young copywriter Catrin Cole is drafted into the Ministry of Information to help write women into propaganda films - something that the men aren't very good at. She is quickly seconded to the ministry's latest endeavor: a heartwarming tale of bravery and rescue at Dunkirk. It's all completely fabricated, of course, but what does that matter when the nation's morale is at stake?

narrator
I missed the narrator from first book . Took awhile to adjust.
The author tried to put modern values in history. Women's strength came from survival not just my body, my choice.
Overall liked the book. She clearly paints her environment with excellent writing. Will try another!

sequel - into the free
I was excited to hear this sequel and this it was good, it was also a tad annoying. first, a different narrator from before. the rise and fall off her voice in every sentence was annoying. The story line was good, but not as good as Into the Free. It did wrap up some of Millie's life for the reader, and perhaps I would have liked it better if the same narrator had read it. I would recommend it to complete Millie's life story, but otherwise, I would have passed on it. still, I look forward to this author's work. She can be very poetic in her writing.
