Resumen del Editor

The eagerly anticipated follow-up to My Life Next Door is a magnetic, push-me-pull-me summer romance for fans of Sarah Dessen and Jenny Han.

Gwen Castle's Biggest Mistake Ever, Cassidy Somers, is slumming it as a yard boy on her idyllic Nantucket-esque island this summer. He's a rich kid from across the bridge in Stony Bay, and she hails from a family of fishermen and housecleaners who keep the island's summer people happy. Gwen worries a life of cleaning houses will be her fate too, but just when it looks like she'll never escape her past - or the island - Gwen's dad gives her some shocking advice. Sparks fly and secret histories unspool as Gwen spends a gorgeous, restless summer struggling to resolve what she thought was true - about the place she lives, the people she loves, and even herself - with what really is.

Huntley Fitzpatrick delivers another enticing summer listen full of expectation and regret, humor and hard questions, and a romance that will make every listener swoon.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Fitzpatrick (My Life Next Door) once again evokes the dizzying heights of adolescent passion while remaining down-to-earth." (Publishers Weekly, starred review)

"A steamy and very believable account of how it feels to discover how important it is to take responsibility for oneself and the decisions that shape one's life. A must for collections that can't keep Sarah Dessen, Stephanie Perkins, or YA summer romance titles on the shelves." (Booklist)

"Much deeper than the pretty cover lets on." (Kirkus Reviews)

Love this Author

I had never read or listened to books by Huntley Fitzpatrick. Great author! Great books for young and old alike.

I love it so much.

I loved this book so much. I am a real big fan of the author. My advice is to read My Life Next Door, first then read What I Thought Was True. That way you get a feel of the town because both books have the same setting.

someone different

I liked that the narrator wasn't a pure, innocent, virginal 18 year old who is "shown the world" by the "bad boy." that character is over done. I liked that Gwen was relatable and realistic and had flaws. the story line was a little mediocre, but Gwen was great!

Boring...slow....mundane

Sadly after reading 2 other Huntley Fitzpatrick novels this one was a huge disappointment. It’s so slow and the narrator is completely flat. There were flashbacks that actually confused me. I think because I was so bored that I zoned out a couple of times... the characters and story wasn’t bad it was just the way the story was written and then the terrible
narration.

Don't waste 12 hours

The narrator is fantastic but this story DRAGS for almost 3/4ths of the entire thing before any kind of character storyline happens.
It rambles on and on and on with chapters about the couch (named Myrtle ?) and confusing flashbacks.
At the end I had dedicated almost 13 hours for about 15 mins of actual story.

I LOVED My Life Next Door, sadly this was a book full of potentially fascinating characters doing something nothing at all for endless chapters or something beyond cheeseball at best.

Pass this up!
