Narrator did much better in this book

I gave narration low marks in the first book because the t's were too stunted and it was annoying. it was cleared up by this book though, and much better.

Good, quick read.

Good, quick read. A cozy mystery series that's kind of cute while still being interesting.

Where does Whack Job rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

An light entertaining story with some mystery elements and a increasingly well developed cast, Whack Job is a delight to listen to. The pace is consistently quick and it is easy to be drawn completely into to storyline.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Elliott is the star and fate continues to conspire against her. From arid dust bunnies, to a bucket of day old chum, to a fetid urban man camp she manages to wear more unintentional "accessories" and destroy more clothing than any other OCD detective around.

Have you listened to any of Rachel Frawley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The only onther performance by Rachel Frawley that I have listened to was Board Stiff, the initial mystery in this series. By now I have associated with her characterizations and find it very easy to listen too.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the final party scene where one long-term pain in the butt discovered a silver lining in one small bundle.

Any additional comments?

If you enter in looking for a good story and some light entertainment with a sprinkling of mystery on top, you will not go away unhappy.

Never Again

I listened to the first book in this series and thought I would give the second book a try. It was a complete waste of time. There is something about lead character that I don't like. She seems pompous and unrealistic. At any rate. if she were a real person. I would avoid her. I therefore, was unable to finish this book.

Couldn't get past the first chapter

Would you try another book from Kendel Lynn and/or Rachel Frawley?

Certainly not a narration by Rachel Frawley. I couldn't listen to her overly pronounced reading past the first minute. I kept thinking I might get used to it, but I couldn't stand it long enough to find out.

What could Kendel Lynn have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Gotten a different narrator. Sorry, Kendel, I really don't know if this was a good book.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Oy vey. How did she not?

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I have no idea. I couldn't listen to it.

Any additional comments?

I hardly ever have a problem with audiobook narrators. I'm really very tolerant, and I tried to give Rachel a chance. But this was, without a doubt, the most sophomoric reading I've ever heard. I hope she improves. Or gives it up.

wild overacting

I don't know if a narrator can overact, but this gal's narration was over the top. Her expression, character portrayal was a bit much. I just did not enjoy listening to it. Fortunately I had the Kindle version as well, so after listening to a couple of chapters, I just read it. The story was light and amusing and I totally enjoyed-the narration not at all.
