Fun, Adventurous, and Full of Heart

Werewolf on the Range by Jeff Howard was an absolute blast to listen to! This book delivers a thrilling blend of supernatural action and classic Western vibes, all wrapped up in a story that kept me hooked from start to finish.

The protagonist stands out with a strong sense of justice and a clear understanding of right and wrong, which made him incredibly easy to root for. I loved how he navigated danger and moral dilemmas with courage and conviction—it gave the story real emotional weight.

The pacing was great, the world-building was immersive, and the story strikes a perfect balance between heart, humor, and just the right amount of bite. If you’re in the mood for a unique and adventurous ride, this is the book for you.

A Great Surprise! Werewolf on the Range is a must read for horror fans!

A real surprise of a read! I haven’t ever read a werewolf novel before, but after finishing, I’m already searching through Audible, hungry to get another one!

The story doesn’t hold back. This is a horror story, and the creature is a werewolf who does what werewolves do. There is no holding back in the detail of the wolf’s savagery. Teeth. Claws. Blood. Body parts. Fear. It’s all there.

Being that this story takes place during the Westward Expansion around 1870, it also reminds us about a real savagery that existed amongst our soldiers with their talk and prejudices. The storytelling does a fantastic job showing us a real piece of our American history, and then adds the supernatural element to create something new, that is, a historical horror story that is definitely worth reading.

Think of the film Hostiles with Christian Bale, and then add to it, The Howling.

Definitely worth the purchase if you enjoy werewolves and/or ‘80’s horror. Very well written and paced, with amazing detail that will easily bring the old world back to life in your mind’s eye. You’ll be glad you read this one, horror fans! - John/I Love Monster Movies

The narrator was the only problem

The story was almost perfect, a really enjoyable twist to my favorite genre, werewolf lore. The narrator was not computer generated, but I think a computer generated version would've been better. No change in his drull, monotone cadence, ever.

The rich character development

I absolutely loved the storyline! It grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I intended on just listen to the audiobook during my daily work commute, and soon found myself sitting by the fire pit still listening unable to turn it off.
the author's narration was a great touch. It gave the main character additional depth.
