no idea what this is

I don't get the point of this at all. I can no recommend to anyone.

The best part..

.. was that i didn't pay anything for it. i honestly don't know what the plan was for this. let's write a story about movie commentary for a movie that nobody's seen or cares about?

The only slightly interesting part was the allusion to interest between the actress and director and the idea that the film was somehow a cult classic, but neither idea was developed and the recording stopped with the dumbest, most obvious "shock ending" one could imagine.

The only reason i didn't give this a solid one star rating was the sound design and competent voice acting. I know you probably didn't pay for it either, but it's really not worth the time it takes to listen to it, even at 1.5x speed.

B-movie commentary

Join the director of Weird Menace along with one of the actresses as they record the commentary track. They reminisce while having cocktails, in their own little world of yesteryear and minutiae. The ending is rather abrupt, but it left me wondering about the sex scene between the director (subbing as a body double) and the elusive Hannah Han.

It's lucky it was so short otherwise I would not have finished. I can't even explain what it was about other than a to say a confusing menace.

Abruptly, badly, sadly... IDK whatever it was it better not be added to the blueray as an extra because it will make people cry too much.

A short entertaining slice of life

This is very short, but well done. It shouldn't have to be said, but Weird Menace is not a real movie, and these are voice actors playing parts. (A few of the other reviewers seem to be confused on this point.) It's a short story told as if it were the director's commentary on a DVD, with the director and the star talking about a B movie that neither of them remembers very well.

There is an undercurrent of the Uncanny in this story, and the ending is ambiguous. In general though, it's more of a comedy sketch than anything else. I am a fan of director's commentaries, and they hit the tone and style perfectly. I can see how it wouldn't make much sense to someone who isn't used to watching them. If you're a fan of B Movies and like hearing the reminiscences of filmmakers, you'll probably enjoy it. It's only about a half hour long, which works really well for the concept--it would have gotten tiresome if it had gone on much longer.

Not a fan

Maybe I just didn't get the "in" jokes, but I didn't find this funny or engaging. If it were any longer, I wouldn't have finished listening.

the weird nuisance...

the performance, by both voice actors, was great. the story, particularly the finish, left a bit to be desired. feels unfinished, story wise. but, maybe I just didn't get it...

Pointless In My Opinion

I wish I could get the last 30-something minutes of my life back. the narrators were great, but there was no real point to this story, or no good point to the story.
