When it happened Miguel was sent to Juvi. The judge only gave him a year in a group home - said he had to write in a journal so some counselor could try to figure out how he thinks. Loved it! Omg so emotional, I definitely cried when Miguel tells us what he did, twas a bitter sweet moment.

Took a long time fro get to the why.

Great book, was going to read with middle schooler, but better suited for 12th graders.

Story of forgiveness and moving forward

Teaches young readers about perseverance and moving forward in life. Miguel decides to stop running away and make things right to have a better future.

This is one the books you never want to see end. it is captivating from beginning to end. Will definitely read it again.

We Were Here

This is a very good book filled with both laughter and pain. The narrator did a good job however, there was a discrepancy with some of the verbiage and him sounding like he is from the East Coast. It lessens the authenticity, however, I would recommend this book.
