It does not occur to him that the attack may be something quite different. Maybe the woman or father is angry at something else and is displacing or projecting the anger onto the man. The naive male takes in the attack, feels the wound, and then bends over, psychologically.

This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... A good experience, but not well-suited to audiobook format.
This is an archival recording and not your typical produced-in-a-studio audiobook. It’s an unpolished recording of Bly leading a course (imagine a college professor giving a lecture to his class). Bly interprets several of Yeats’ poems and provides some biography of Yeats along the way. It will be helpful if you have some grasp of both of those before listening. If not, it might be harder to follow.
Overall, I enjoyed the recording because of the poetry, Bly’s insights and philosophies, and of course the chanting. :)
3 stars for performance because the recording is rough and sometimes you can’t hear the class members’ questions and comments well.
4 stars for story because although it can be hard to follow at times, the poetry is fantastic.
