A romantic short story

It went really fast and I felt like this story was more telling than showing. It felt like someone was telling me something instead of me reading and book and trying to imagine it in my minds eye.

Great Short Story

I really enjoyed this short story. I’m a sucker for a good sports story and this didn’t disappoint. I also thought the narrators who were new to me did a great job.

A Short, Sweet Sports Romance

When top-tier beach volleyball team Ace and Robby fall in love, Ace knows they can't have both a romantic relationship and still be partners on the court. They both decide that they want to be a couple and search for new volleyball partners. How will they balance the pressures of excelling in their sport with the ups and downs of of life?

The way Michaels incorporates the exclusivity of Olympic-level beach volleyball with the normalcy every couple experiences is well-shown. Ace and Robby go through the stress of their profession, supporting each other when life brings them down and even a bout of jealousy on their journey to happiness and fulfillment. It's short, but the story is complete and leads to a satisfying conclusion.

Having dual narrators, Lance Isley and Mackenzie Brennan, really enhances the story. I especially like their interpretation of the wonderful dialogue written by Lynn Michaels. It comes alive with its authenticity.

I received this audiobook as a free review copy that I requested. I have voluntarily written my opinion of it.

Nice sweet short

Volley is a nice slice-of-life story (not really a romance) of Robbie and Ace as they each aim for an Olympic medal. I would not have minded a prequel story of how they became a couple. Most of the story revolved around the volleyball games and how Ace was unreasonably jealous of Morgan.
The narration was good: there were well acted parts and then parts that sounded more like a play-by-play than acting or narrating. The best part was that both narrators enunciated so perfectly that I could listen at 2-3x speed without anything sounding slurred or dropping off. I liked the inclusion of a few fxs as well.

Volley

I liked that we get to see an established relationship with its' warts and all. It's not all sunshine and rainbows after you fall in love and this showed it well. Can they manage their relationship despite the competiveness and jealousy to win. I liked the growth of both main characters individually and ad a couple. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrators did a great job bringing it to life. All that make up smexy time-omg!!!

Short but satisfying

I'm always worried about the short ones - will they be able to fill a complete story. This one certainly did. This was a short, but sweet story. Add in a sports-related storyline and it really did have a beginning, middle and end to it.

The narration was ok. Not great, but no major complaints with it.

I would definitely check out this author again (this was my first by her).
