Leave it to AI, Black marginalization and white ego to turn a realistic historical account into trashy account of a Black woman being soooo grateful that this dull-witted man sent for her to take care of his daughter. And of course she left a family that disowned and treated her so terribly over some Trumped up tale, that she never wanted to see them again. Nevertheless , she embraces the terrible treatment she received from the Canadians with determination to be accepted by them.

There were some cute, funny and interesting moments but not enough to make up for the mistreatment of this Black woman in her own romance story about a time in history that is seldom showcase.
