The New York Times bestselling author of The Gatekeepers and The Spymasters now turns his sharp eye towards the historic 2024 presidential race, providing the definitive, insider account of the most dramatic and significant political showdown in modern American history.

A disastrous debate, a would-be assassin’s bullet, an electrifying eleventh hour candidate swap, dramatic and surprising VP selections, betrayals behind closed doors, charges of a stolen election, game-changing blunders—the history-making 2024 presidential election is a political saga of Shakespearean proportions. In minute-by-minute detail, esteemed White House historian and political analyst Chris Whipple chronicles the unprecedented drama as it unfolds, documenting the true story of the Harris and Trump campaigns and the difficult, urgent decisions made in the back rooms of power, with the future of American democracy at stake.

Alternating between the Biden/Harris/Walz and the Trump/Vance camps, Whipple tells the fly-on-the-wall story of campaign 2024, drawing on his unique access to exclusive sources on both sides, including conversations with members of the candidates’ inner circles. Whipple goes behind the scenes of every headline-making moment to reveal how a post-debate intra-party rebellion forced Biden to step aside, how the nomination of Vice President Harris at a thrilling convention reshaped the race, how Harris rallied excited voters across generations and demographics, but ultimately could not overcome the underlying weaknesses of her campaign. Whipple also burrows inside Donald Trump’s campaign to reveal startling new insights into how he overcame primary opponents and multiple prosecutions, rebranded his base to appeal to Gen Z voters, and forged powerful alliances with Silicon Valley CEOs like Elon Musk.

An intimate portrait of American politics on the edge, filled with previously untold stories, anecdotes, and insights, Uncharted is the authoritative account of this pivotal chapter in American politics. As he brings to life the most dramatic and important presidential campaign of the modern age and puts it into historical perspective, Whipple exposes how ambition, conviction, and resilience collide at the highest echelons of power, offering a deeper understanding of the forces that define a divided nation.

This was a 'get Trump' book! plain and simple!
So many of the stories Whipple told have been proven to be false, but he repeated them exactly like they have been repeated for years!!!
The few things that he said about Biden were things we already knew!!!
He painted Harris like she was a savior.
Thank God that didn't work out.
This book was a waste of time and money.

Let's see how many lies we can repeat

Starts out acting like a journalist, but reveals his true partisan colors as the book goes on. Promotes many unproven lies about Trump, and he seems sincerely depressed about Harris losing. Very condescending toward Trump supporters, and he doesn’t get why the democrats really lost. Also, the reading performance wasn’t great. The only saving grace about the book was the few insider (behind the scenes) facts from the two campaigns that were revealed.

Very partisan and not objective

This is old news and the author can’t get his head around “Right Wing ideologues “
The narrator has a weak and aging voice that doesn’t command attention
Can I get my dollar ?

Old news Orange Man Bad

This book was a first person narrative of happenings that lacked more evidentiary materials that are known. It just gave a one sided view of the author but presented nothing

Boring

Having seen some interviews about this book, I was excited to read an objective behind-the -scenes book about both campaigns. Sadly, it’s was really a usual, overdone narrative about how the Biden-Harris camp were just victims of circumstance and Trump world is bad. There are other post-election books out there. Perhaps this isn’t the one. Ironically, the author does come off a bit self promoting and a bit self important… a common critique he has of Trump.

The other reviews nail it: Not even handed

This story is about an election and the colossal failure of one party. It is an election of course it is a partisan story, the author does not sugar coat the failures by every single senior manager in the Harris campaign and what a horrible job Jen O’Malley Dillon did running the campaign.
The author was too kind to Joe Biden and did not accurately present Obama’s failings in the process.

Interesting Story and as Bipartisan as it could be

I wish he could have been a little less obvious his dislike of Trump. He clearly didn't give a balance account. Harris had a problem with word salad which he never addressed. For example

clearly he is a democrat

The author did a poor job of concealing his disdain for Trump . Was hoping for a balanced revisiting of the election , pro and con. From the Democratic convention to the end, this seemed to be pro Harris and against anything that was on the other side. As I said earlier, the bias was very evident.

Overt bias

The author's words ring with Tump Derrangement Syndrome, making his recollection so biased. If anything, it shows the democrat party is still sees itself as superior to the Republican party and in complete denial that they did anything wrong. The author's bias drips hatred for the GOP. A better title for the book, "Biased, Demz Did Everything Right and Still Lost to the Inferior GOP".

Sadly biased, bitter historian view.

I decided to check out this book because it was featured on Fox News. I would have assumed that it would be balanced on both sides of the aisle & give confirmation of what was hidden in the Biden administration. Unfortunately, it was way too left leaning for me.

I wish they had a return policy on books that come with false advertising!

More left leaning garbage.
