Resumen del Editor

Follow Nathan, Jess, Denny, and others as they struggle through a post-apocalyptic America, where the only law is martial!

Their struggles take them from the comforts of their southern Illinois homestead, to the brutal realities of an America where liberty is no longer a right, and survival is of the fittest.

a good story

This is a well written story about the fall of America. The narrator does a good job, but I think (personal preference here) some more inflection on some of the voices is needed.

Perfect for those that enjoy a military presence

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

I enjoy 'end of the world' books but found this one to have more military involvement than I generally prefer. I liked the characters but would have enjoyed more background on them. Overall a nice book.

Good for those with a military background

I enjoyed the premise of this book -- that at some point in the future, the government colludes with international forces to force a "new world order". It provided much food for thought regarding the executive orders, both previously signed and those to be signed in the future, and how they may aid a rogue government in seizing the property and liberty of ordinary citizens for its benefit. The book also provided good insight into the minds of the armed forces members and how they can either be the catalyst for change or complicit in the government's tyrannical plans.

Unfortunately, the jargon and somewhat stilted talk in the book were both very militaristic. If one's interest lies in military talk like specific gun models and military jargon, this would be a great book. However, I found it a bit much for my own preferences. In addition, I feel like there were too many characters introduced in the book and found it difficult to keep track of all of them. The team from "the District", for example, could have been left out completely and/or perhaps further developed in a subsequent book. Reducing the number of main characters and more deeply developing a handful or so of the most central characters would have resulted in a stronger narrative.

Great book!

There are some who don't like the narrator but once you get into the book I think he fits it. The book was a different take than the normal shtf routine which was good. I thought the scenarios with the DHS, the issues and liberal greed and the way government control/tyranny came about was spot on. Over all an excellent book.

Story is great but bad voice actor

The reader didn't know how to pronounce things properly. Also was way too monotone. The guy just needed to do more research.

Very Good End of America Story.

This is the first in a series by Mr. Hogan. Its set in a future America where the Left has run amuck and thru executive orders stripped our rights and set into motion the Globalist Agenda 21 on American soil called in UN troops and split the Country into zones. The Mr Hogan has done his research and these executive orders are real and on the books going back to JFK up To Obama.

The follow the characters as they try and survive in a world that is run on martial law. Brutality is common place and mans inhumanity to man in in vivid display. Mr Hogan paints a grim picture of a possible future. I cannot wait to hear more.

The narration was of a very high quality. The narrator was deeply expressive and brought great emotion to the characters and this grim future.

What Happens When You Take Liberty and Rights Away

We arrive at a post-apocalyptic the a very familiar path. The government just doing what was "best" for the people. Hogan introduces us to a world that has no rights and liberties, at least for the Americans who thought they had them. This is a good read as we watch the journeys of Nathan, Jess, Denny and others as the try to survive the realities of the new America.
The country they thought was free is now controlled by martial law and they are the enemy.
This is well worth the listen even if just for the entertainment. But even more worth the listen as we see the consequences of inaction in preserving our rights and liberty.

A possible future.

I enjoyed his but I felt it needed something more. Maybe more character building or fewer plot lines. I don’t know. I wasn’t completely drawn in with the ‘I can’t put this down feeling’ or the ‘oh wow I wonder what will happen next’ feeling either. I have already started book 2 and everything is coming together better so that is why I gave the book at higher rating.
Narration is good.

A good start to the series.

This book started the Tyrant series. The premises behind the series is Fema and the United Nations take over the United States. The President allows this to happen. It follows several groups as they survive and stay out of the Fema camps. The book was good, but the narrator did not help maske it great.
