Resumen del Editor

The role of women in positions of worship and church leadership is one of the most divisive and inconclusive biblical debates.

Two Views on Women in Ministry furnishes you with a clear and thorough presentation of the two primary exegetical arguments so you can better understand each one's strengths, weaknesses, and complexities.

  • Egalitarian—equal ministry opportunity for both genders (represented by Linda L. Belleville and Craig S. Keener)
  • Complementarian—men and women fill distinctive ministry roles (represented by Craig L. Blomberg and Thomas R. Schreiner)

This revised edition brings the exchange of ideas and perspectives into the traditional Counterpoints format. Each author states his or her case and is then critiqued by the other contributors.

The fair-minded, interactive Counterpoints forum allows you to compare and contrast the two different positions and form your own opinion concerning the practical and often deeply personal subject of women in ministry.

The footnotes are included in the audiobook companion PDF download.

The Counterpoints series presents a comparison and critique of scholarly views on topics important to Christians that are both fair-minded and respectful of the biblical text. Each volume is a one-stop reference that allows listeners to evaluate the different positions on a specific issue and form their own, educated opinion.

Yes, it’s worth your time!

This is another great book by Counterpoints. All of the authors are very educated and knowledgeable of the subject. More importantly, they do a wonderful job at laying out the biblical evidence for both camps in a way that is digestible for anyone. My takeaway; both sides have merit and therefore we should approach such topics with the utmost humility as we seek to better understand our God. Just because a belief is dominant in the church today and arguably throughout most of history, doesn’t mean God willed it. As a reminder, the Bible is infallible but we aren’t and neither is our interpretation. After all, we are attempting to understand a collection of letters and revelations that were composed for us but not to us. In other words, there’s not only an issue of linguistics but cultural differences as well that prevent us from ever being absolutely certain about such issues. So then, let us continue seeking the truth in a way that honors our neighbor subsequently our God. Enjoy!
