Wonderfully Narrated Mia Monroe Book

Kale Williams’ narration of Mia Monroe’s Twist Me elevates an already wonderful story, as if it is beautifully tied up in a bow-with rope!

The journeys that both Grey and Mitsu travel are respected and treated with kindness and care, by both main characters. Mia creates the world and Kale helps us hear it!

A Swoony No-Angst Romance Big on Communication

I've been intrigued by Mitsu since he was introduced earlier in this highly interconnected series, and his insta-lovey HEA romance with Grey was wonderfully swoony.

Narrator Kale Williams has made experiencing this series in audio a real treat. To quote this book, "Gah, his voice. If velvet had a sound; if honey could be heard; if honeysuckle made noise..." His wide range of distinct character voices is on full display here, and he captures Grey's nervous shyness and Mitsu's calm confidence perfectly.

Mitsu (near 40) is attracted to a person's energy, and the magnetic pull he feels toward Grey (25) is undeniable. Grey, who is trans, is cautious, afraid to trust and relinquish control, but can't deny feeling that same pull. Their romance is quite sweet, patient and thoughtful, and shibari provides another trust-building bridge between them (and is downright sensual), though it doesn't dominate the story.

Feeling safe to be vulnerable and having meaningful, affirming conversations are at the heart of this story (hooray for no silly misunderstandings), and cheers for the body-positive messaging. I would've welcomed a few character flaws and more of a slow roll in their getting together, but overall this is an enjoyable feel-good romance worth a listen.

The strong friends group spanning this series plays a lesser role in this story than some of the other books, but I'd still recommend reading the previous books going into this one, particularly Book 3. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

The series just gets better and better!

Mia Monroe is at the top of my list of favorite authors and this series is an excellent example of why that is. Gray and Mitsu are peace and harmony personified - the beauty and love simply shine in Kale Williams’ excellent narration. Lovely book and amazing performance.

This book is fire!

This book - what can I say? After waiting for Mitsu and Grey's story, Mia Monroe doesn't disappoint. I honestly wasn't sure how she'd be able to tell Mitsu's story when he always seemed so mystical and otherworldly to me. She nailed it.
Mitsu, a Shibari master, is the epitome of calm and Zen. Grey, a transgender tattoo artist (go, team Black Heart!), is struggling with letting others know his gender identity. They mesh and blend perfectly.
Full of heat and sweet, this book was everything I'd hoped for from these two - and all you expect from a Mia Monroe story. Kale Williams again slays the audio and gives an amazing performance. It's perfect! A must listen!
