The sprawling highways and quiet small towns of Texas hide a dark and brutal history. Beyond the headlines and whispered local legends lie the definitive, blood-curdling stories of the state's most horrifying crimes.

True Crime - Gore in Texas is not for the faint of heart. This meticulously researched anthology rips open the case files on the Lone Star State's most infamous and psychologically disturbing criminals. From the sadistic "Candy Man" Dean Corll to the shocking acts of family annihilators and the cold, calculated slayings of cartel hitmen, these accounts detail the manhunts that captured monsters and the unsolved mysteries that continue to haunt investigators.

Inside this chilling collection, you will discover:

  • Detailed Psychological Profiles: Delve into the twisted minds and motivations of serial killers, understanding the backgrounds that forged their path of destruction.
  • Gripping Investigative Accounts: Follow the determined detectives and forensic experts as they piece together baffling clues and hunt down their elusive quarry.
  • Unforgettable Cases: Relive the stories that shocked the nation, including the Yogurt Shop Murders, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre inspiration, and other brutal events that have become a part of dark American folklore.
  • The Haunting Legacy of the Victims: Go beyond the gore to understand the lives that were tragically cut short and the lasting impact on their communities.

The Darlie Routier story sadly mimicked what has been said in the public & news over & over. Speaking of the silly string at her sons gravesite, the author failed to mention that before that happened the family had spent over 30 mins crying & grieving their children, then spent a few mins celebrating their sons birthday. A birthday he’d been so excited about getting to use at his upcoming party. Horrible to portray a mother as cold for wanting to think about & celebrate her son’s birthday like he’d wanted to. This author got many things incorrect. Hospital staff said her neck wound was superficial, yet they had to surgically remove her gold necklace from the wound with in her neck. She’d been wearing the necklace when attacked in her sleep. It was so deeply imbedded, the Dr had to remove it surgically. She has no medical training. I could never cut my own throat so deeply to imbed a necklace into the wound, nor could I stop just before a major artery. That’s absurd! Then, the window issue…. Several people, on video, stepped through the low window where the perpetrator was said to have entered. They didn’t disturb any of the dust on the window, & easily stepped around the stuff on the ground near it. That’s a joke the perpetrator couldn’t have stepped into a window without touching the windowsill. The window was very low to the ground. I hate this woman is in prison. I wish everyone would do more research & see an innocent mother is being put to death for crimes against her children she didn’t commit. I pray she’s given the true justice she deserves, that her son’s real killer is found & she is freed!

Good book, but sad to hear how one story was portrayed.

This book has many stories about true crime that happened in Texas. A lot of the stories I had no idea about. I like to listen while at work and I was hooked from the beginning.

Very interesting
