I was confused in the beginning when I first heard Ai would be narrator, but thought I would give it a chance, as this author is usually great.

The stories read almost like non-fiction, as the author easily weaves real-life cases with made up characters, mainly the "hero" Investigator John Jordan. his character and back story are well developed and early hooks you. However, ths great story telling was overshadowed by the ridiculous narration.

Ai read the words on the page, but with an upbeat, 6oclock news delivery, kind of like : "230 people died on a plane crash, over to you Joe to tell us about the exciting fair happening downtown today."

The delivery literally made it comical. It doesn't pronounce names the same, or they say it one way in one sentence and changes the pronunciation on the next. It reads any/all gramatical errors. I just couldn't get passed it. I ended up finishing the series,ONLY because the story had me invested.

if this is where audio books is headed, its gonna lose me as a listener.

to the authors: spend the money to have a good narrator, or read it your own self. I'll save the genre.
