Retreating into the conventional lifestyle of a suburban mom, Bullens felt like she was living in an alternate universe. Then whatever world she had was shattered by the tragic death of her younger daughter from cancer. Out of the ashes of despair, Bullens brought forth an award-winning album, Somewhere Between Heaven and Earth, that relaunched the musician's career.

Finally, nine years ago, Cidny claimed his own healing and transitioned from female to male—finding unexpected love, becoming a new stepfather, and a grandfather.

What he found, too, was his true voice and true power as a performer.

A Heartfelt Memoir by a Fantastic Song Writer

If you grew up in the seventies or anytime listening to rock music, you must read this book. Cidny Bullens is the definition of a great songwriter. I became acquainted with Cid's music late in life. Finding the album "Somewhere Between Heaven and Earth" in 2012. The ten songs in that album are among the most beautiful tributes to a lost child that could ever be written.
This book has something for everyone. It is the best listen/read of over 500 nonfiction titles that I have experienced. After reading it, I understand just how difficult a rock music career can be. Read it, I promise you won't be sorry!

Excellent Artistry!

As exciting as the rock and roll was in the beginning, I continued listening more for the growth and human experience. We all eventually know loss. Cidny’s life has been grand so far, but also connects on a deeper level. Much like his music, I can see some of my own struggles in his. I’m glad I listened to this audiobook.
