During Abbie's difficult recovery, memories of past events gradually return. They are fragmentary and torture her with memory flashes and nightmares. Gradually, she begins to suspect that one of her adult patients may be the strangler. When the police find Abbie's prime suspect brutally murdered, both she and the police are befuddled. A book that starts out tame but interesting. About a third of the way in the edge fell off. Then it turned into LOTS of talking without much of interest and certainly no keen edge of who-done-it. I wish I had counted the number times some character said "psychopath/ sociopath" perhaps to develop a golden ratio
of number of over used terms to
increasing loss of focus on hard crime. I was so glad when this was finally over. Even the surprises and plot twists left me thinking "oh, really?" oh hum
