This book isn't just another read; it's a journey through mind-blowing scientific discoveries and philosophical debates. From religion to reason, it uncovers the truth.

  • Are you experiencing anxiety about the future?

  • Do you often query whether there is a God?

  • Do you often ponder what the meaning of your life actually is?

  • Do you know beyond any doubt, what truly good education and upbringing really are?

Do you relate to any of these questions? If yes, then you really need to read this book.

By engaging with religious writers and dogmatics of the past and our modern times, Greg Oliver explains that making sense of human existence is simply impossible without the powerful Reason of modern Science. Things like goodness, happiness, rationality, truth, love, beauty and life itself, simply cannot be understood as they really are, without the knowledge and the critical way of thinking, which modern sciences offer.

In the best tradition of the history’s most brilliant philosophers, scientists, sceptics and freethinking writers, Greg reveals how we can make actual sense of our existence and find true happiness by rejecting religious faith and dogmas, and instead, accept the Reason of modern Science.

This is a book for truth seekers. It is - for the most part - aimed at people who possess a broad-spectrum knowledge. In essence, it is an intellectually engaging textbook, which offers a novel approach to Scientific Naturalism.

So here's my challenge to you: Snag this groundbreaking book NOW and dive into the ultimate quest for truth.

Greg Oliver's "To Know Reality As It Is" is a compelling read that left me pondering its grand vision for humanity's future. I appreciated his emphasis on education as a pathway to solving society's ills and building a foundation for universal understanding. This is particularly evident with his ideas of a universal schooling system with high-quality education and his ideas on rejecting “evil”.

However, while the book champions scientific thinking, it also seemed to dismiss any potential benefits of religious and ideological commitment. The reliance on scientific thinking neglects the reasons one may have a system of beliefs that are not rooted on science. And so, the vision of a universal schooling system that seems to take away the right of one's beliefs and implement an educational system has valid reasons to exist. Is this true, even for some of its potential benefits? In order to really appreciate the work, I found myself wrestling with these fundamental questions. In the end, it was this intellectual engagement that made the book so deserving of its score.

A Question of Balance

"To Know Reality As It Is," is a fascinating, albeit heady mix of ideas on science, knowledge, and the human spirit. I found the core of the book on the ability of an individual to create action. But it also brought forth the concern on if the individual efforts are not supported, would it all just be for naught?

This led me to question where Oliver has been thinking, what will become of us if everything is just in our heads. If reality is just in our heads, does that make our quest pointless? And what does any of this even mean to our modern, day-to-day existence? It's a whirlwind to consider, for sure!

Finding Meaning in a Simulated World

Greg Oliver's "To Know Reality As It Is" is an ambitious philosophical survey that courageously tackles fundamental questions about existence, human spirituality, and ethics. The author attempts to synthesize scientific naturalism with broad historical and philosophical knowledge, offering a uniquely scientific perspective on life's deepest mysteries. While the reviewer appreciated the sheer audacity and the refreshingly different viewpoint in modern philosophy, a central tension emerged: the book's pursuit of a definitive, objective reality often clashes with the subjective nature of perception.

Despite its grand scope, the book's dense and overly academic writing style sometimes made it challenging to stay engaged, feeling more like decoding than digesting. The reviewer noted that the book seemed hesitant to fully explore the material importance of emotions or the meaning of organic joy within existence, often dismissing non-scientific evidence in favor of a prevailing scientific view. This approach led to a perceived lack of balance, with the reviewer suggesting a more inclusive perspective where various philosophical ideas could coexist, enriching the discussion and making the book more accessible.
