It has potential, I'm blaming the editor

I see talent in the writing but there are newbie issues (no I have no idea how many the author has written, just an opinion). For one, it needs to decide on an audience. The story line and easy read suggests preteen-early teens yet throws in cursing and sex like trying for a 20+ audience. Then they will be talking in one place then turn around and be in another making it hard to picture or follow. I'll think, 'wait what?' and go back to see if I missed them walking somewhere else but nope. And then in the middle it like, re-explained characters & the story like it was a new book and we had to be reminded? I'm guessing it's an audible thing, like the book was actually released in peices maybe?

I keep waiting on something to develop between Elaina and Blake. There are plenty of hints that something is coming between then but after awhile its like, Come on already!

Actually really good...

If you can get past all the teenage angst and "wanting" that goes on (this is YA for sure), the storyline is actually pretty well rounded and more complex than I thought it would be (and the narration is great). As a former librarian, I've read my fair share of books and have developed a knack for figuring out the storyline ahead of time. This one kept me guessing though! Well done author - very thankful I'll be able to jump right into the next one!

Yes, of course I will recommend. This second book is really enjoyable. The story is very interesting and is a good entertaining.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narrators managed to present the emotions and personality of each character. Moreover, the narration is very clear, easy to understand. I really enjoyed their work.

Any additional comments?

The book is very good. if the person like fantasy and dragnons, I think may enjoy. The only problem is a very teen kind of story, but is good.

Loved it. Loved the narrator. Even shed a tear. On to the next book in the series.

Still awesome the third time!

I fell in love with the story of Blake and Elena. I could not help from buying the series the fourth time I read it. I have read other reviews and a few readers make valid points, however, flaws and all this is a seriously first heart breaking and later endlessly beautiful story.

Diving into Darkness

While I enjoy this series, my journey will likely end here. The first book was refreshingly light on the descriptions of blood, suffering, sex and gore. It was an easy story about teenagers in a fantasy setting. That changed with this volume. It took a turn towards darkness, and from the summaries of the titles that follow, it just continues to dive deeper into the abyss. No thanks.

The narration is really good, although there was a weird difference in the first chapter that made it sound like an older lady was reading it. Maybe recording speed?

the second book in this series really gets a hold of you. There are so many things that happen and wow just wow.
