Great story. Really enjoyed listening to it. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in historical fiction.

Amazing story, great performance

This is a gorgeous book—poetic, sweeping, lush, poignant. I stayed up late listening to the end because I had to find out what happened.

I loved this book!

I loved this book! I could not put it down. I miss the characters already! It was flawless. This is an extremely powerful mother-daughter story about an impossible choice that will stay with me forever, much like Sophie’s Choice and Sarah’s Key. Told from 3 points of view, and masterfully researched from war-torn France to the golden age of Hollywood, this book is an emotional and ultimately uplifting must-read.

I was surprised at the beginning of the novel. . I mixed emotions throughout turn of events. This was a good read.
