This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... Hauntingly Beautiful
This is one of MacDonald’s more introspective works. The plot is slow moving and there are several sermons from the curate. But through this amazing story we see the spiritual coming of age of a true seeker. Simply beautiful! This story gave me so much to reflect upon. If you love George MacDonald’s works for their theological boundary pushing and provocative Christian themes, this is a must read. I enjoyed the narration also. Very well done all around. I hope to see more of MacDonald’s realistic novels brought to life like this one.
