The Plot Thickens

The story is getting more complicated, but Rose's comments can be just dumb!

The narration is good as usual.

All the drama, the secrets and the revelations

I love this series. Rose is a 24 year old woman living in a nosy closed minded small town. She experiences visions that she’s compelled to share with the person she has them of. Rose continues to stumble into crimes and be good hearted to a fault but she is no longer the naive, innocent woman from last year and the first book in the series. Her innocent Rose persona and her strong Lady in Black persona have started to merge and become the real Rose. This book picks up where the last book left off. Rose has been arrested for her mother’s murder with trumped up but damning evidence, Mason has been fired as the ADA, and Skeeter is in hiding. Rose is going to have to make hard choices and tell some hard truths in order to protect everyone in her life. The book was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline with sweet moments, exciting action, danger, family drama, painful pasts, mystery, plot twists, imperfect characters, missteps, and all the big feels. I am looking forward to reading what happens next in Rose’s life.

Shannon McManus did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

Best one so far!
