Resumen del Editor

What happens when you open your home to the perfect stranger?

Anna Klein is ready to return to work as a literary agent for the first time since having children. She and her husband, Josh, decide to hire a live-in nanny with some trepidation, but all their misgivings disappear as soon as they meet Oaklynn Durst. She has stellar references, a calm disposition, and a natural way with children. Not to mention their kids simply adore her.

But not long after Oaklynn arrives, the children start to come down with the most puzzling illnesses and inexplicable injuries. When the maternal Oaklynn is there to comfort everyone, Anna can’t help feeling a little eclipsed. And suspicious. Her husband and friends assure her that her anxieties are getting the best of her - Oaklynn is perfect. But Anna’s not so sure....

As she delves into Oaklynn’s past, she discovers too late that the woman who has been living in her house is not at all who she claims to be. But Oaklynn’s not the only one who has been lying. And when everyone’s dark secrets are forced into the light, the consequences may just turn deadly.

Patricia Arquette should play Nadine in the movie

It gets off to a slow start but is a captivating story so once it picked up I was hooked. This is a very good read if you like suspense/crime type books. As I listened I realized Marine's character reminded me alot of the mom from the series The Act. I kept imagining her as Patricia Arquette as I went through the novel.

Excellent!

I lived in Charlotte NC for 25 years and both of my kids went to Myers Park Traditional School. I really enjoyed hearing about the different locations and streets. I’ve been everywhere you mentioned. Even the Harris Teeter at Morocroft off of Park Road. Excellent writing and I’m getting ready to listen to your book Lies That Bind Us.
Well DONE!!

Intriguing

This is the first book I have read by Andrew Hart and for me, it was a "page-turner" and the antagonist at the end was a surprise. I was, however, disappointed the ending did not complete the story of Anna and Josh's financial problems.

Predictable

Though it's not a bad story it feels like a Lifetime movie. It's not my kind of story I want horror and thriller this was more suspense.

Interesting, creepy and insightful

I liked it. The narration jumps around a lot, but it all makes sense in the end.
It's well written and well narrated. I really enjoyed Marietta DePrima, (George Newbern was just okay)
It has some timely commentary on current race relations in the US.

Great plot to be overshadowed by final pages

The story was great until the end where the author tried to tag an ending on morality of our country. It wasn’t something touched on through out the book just added at the end.

Be Careful Who Let In Your House

Great Story that has alot with suspense, mental illness, nosey neighbors, domestic violence, identity steaing and so much more! But if you read or listen to this book and don't get and from The one think last chapter was so good and so coincides with society & The Country Right Now the way it, way we are living! it was touching to me, I have people of all races in my famly, I understood! And Understand! And It on the Fourth of July Made it that much Better!
