As he stumbles from one mishap to another, George meets the woman of his dreams, unwittingly aids in a bank robbery, and finds himself pursued by both the police and a gang of angry criminals. With a big life decision to make, and a girl to try and win over, George is given the chance to become the hero he has always wanted to be.

Fair warning: Raised in Captivity does not slot into a smooth preexisting groove. If Saul Steinberg and Italo Calvino had adopted a child from a Romanian orphanage and raised him on Gary Larsen and Thomas Bernhard, he would still be nothing like Chuck Klosterman. Lots of words
I know it’s a book but Lordy how many words are there! Story was off to a good start. Ludicrous and hilarious situations that make you shake your head and Laugh. After several chapters the book becomes laden with terminal worditis; way too much describing of people, character, places, and situations. I just wanted it to be over. 63 chapters could have been done in 50 or less.
Narrator was excellent!!
