I think I liked this Agatha Christy mystery so much because I figured this one out before the end.

Suspenseful!

Four stars because life is sad enough, fiction doesn’t need sad endings, even if they are realistic, fiction walks us in line between fictional and realistic

Sad ending good story

I don't recall ever reading this story (play?) before. If I have, it was at least 45 years ago and it was fun to "find" a new Christie. It starts on a dark and stormy night in Wales and grabs the listener with the broody atmosphere. Hugh Fraser gives his usual wonderful performance with the narration, which helps paper over some of the minor holes in the plot.

I will listen to this again and recommend it to any Christie fan.

Excellent Performance by Hugh Fraser

Agatha Christie does it again! She played this one so effectively that I did not suspect the twist until right before it was revealed.

Had me until the very end

Hugh Fraser as always does a great job as story teller. The Character development could have been better but still a good read.

CLASSIC CHRISTIE SURPRISE ENDING

Short and sweet with a great twist at the end. I always love this narrator.

Loved the ending.

I literally have listened to this book 4-5 times. It is, in my opinion, Agatha’s best book.

The narrater is perfect. Favorite Agatha book ever.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

This book most certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat. It starts with us seeing the murder committed--the murderer is obvious; there's a cover up; there's a motive. What, you think, is this murder mystery going to be about. And then, good ol' Agatha turns the whole thing upside down and makes you doubt EVERYTHING! Really really a good read. And a nice quick read, too!

What about Hugh Fraser’s performance did you like?

Loved that it was Hugh Fraser. Reminiscent of the Poirot series.
