This was a great series, the first book The Dare was really good but this one was ohhh so good! Laugh out loud and definitely all the feels. The narrators are amazing. Although his voice was a little off sometimes she more that makes up for it! Definitely a must!

i love how the story unfolds. there was no dull moments for me. the only problem for me was the guy narrator. overly dramatic in how he read the part. but for the woman narrator, hands down to her. she’s awesome. worth your while to listen to this.

The Sweetest Story

I read an interview with Joe Arden the other day and he said he was tired of people “slut shaming” romance novels. He made the point, and I totally agree, that romantic fiction can be just good fiction. It’s just a good book that happens to have some steamy contact or an element of fairytale. This book was excellent fiction.

I really found this story to be poignant and tender. Two people, who would never have thought they would end up together, worked to overcome obstacles and find a love that surprised them both. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend!

Loved it!

Love a good listen like this one! An age-gap, best friends father romance, Lauren Landish captured my attention with this one. Tiffany has been around forever. His daughter’s best friend, Daniel never really paid to the fact that she’s all grown up now. But when he takes her to her house after a night of drinking. Her admission changes everything. Now decisions have to be made! Would this love ever workout? Would the age difference play a part? What will his daughter think? Lots of laughs, tender moments and sneaking around had me thoroughly enjoying this second book if the Truth or Dare Duet!

Narrated by Carly Robins and Vikas Adams, we are treated to a wonderful performance. These two seasoned narrators fall into character and create magic. Loved it!

Very well written. The perfect combination of smut, humor, and great writing. Worth the read.

Vikas Adam!

Ok ok- I loved the story. But really? Vikas Adam narrating romance has left me tongue tied! Oh my, Mr. Adam, I need more! I had heard him narrating other genres, and when I saw that he was the narrator on a Lauren Landish title, I was curious to see how it would play out. And ooh-wee does he deliver!

Loved this story!!

At first I was nervous because the best friend and the dad. But I ended up loving it. The story was great, funny, streaky at times. The narration was great. The man’s voice was sexy except when he did the girl voice, instead of picturing Tiffany I was picturing “Tootsie” the movie. Lol but it wasn’t so bad I couldn’t finish.

I love Nadia Lee’s books! She is my new favorite!! Now I have to listen to all of her books!

Could have been better

The lack of chemistry kept their awkward age gap at the front of my mind... It could have been better if Tiffany was Elle's slightly "older friend" (maybe dividing the age gap & making her 10 yrs older than E & only 10 years younger than Daddy). It was extremely awkward that supporting characters in the book even assumed he was her Dad & mentioned it. EW!!! The author should have played up that he was in fantastic shape & gorgeous for his age. Also, consult medical people if you put a character in the hospital. Good book - just could have been better.

Truthfully, book 1 was better

I put this mostly in the win column, but there were a couple of not-quite-right bits that kept this book from rocking.

The comedy was strong with this book, but…:
Like book 1, and in service to the Truth or Dare series moniker, the plot is pushed along with several truth or dare moments. However, compared to book 1, the dares felt a little more forced and less fun, and the truth side led to a lot of “you had me at hello” heart-pouring speechifying that felt too sugary-sweet. Also, using dares to prompt action gets less and less credible when your MC is a 46 year old, sensible CEO. Truthfully, the better comedy came from the fabulous supporting characters, like MC Daniel’s nephews, the best betting wingmen our H/h could hope for.

Three downsides to the narration without book 1’s Shane East:
I enjoy narrator Vikas Adam for non-romances (loved him in the YA fairy tale update Once More Upon A Time), but his female voicing makes me cringe. His and narrator Robbin’s British voicing were pretty bad- good thing those parts were limited to when Colton from book 1 was in play. Finally, I feel like Mr. Adam was working too hard to lower his voice for Daniel, our 46yr old lead, and that fizzled the sizzle.

Don’t let the cover art fool you into cozy territory:
Lauren Landish’s books skew towards mouthy comedy and dirty deeds. I’m not sure how to convey this, but the get togethers seemed even more filthy and fluid-y than usual. I think I’d have better enjoyed them with Shane East narrating. As-is, they were a bit much.

I usually pass on plots featuring…:
But for this being book 2 in the series, I’d have avoided the “romancing my best friend’s dad plot.” I also don’t go looking for May/December plots or mama-drama ones. This book gets into all of these areas, not too badly, but enough to make this less fun. Still, these plots occasionally work for me.
Depending whether these plots butter your biscuit, I recommend:
👄 Good Time or Plan B by Jana Astin, May/December romance with maximum humor and raunch.
👄Kiss for a Kiss, by Helena Hunting (older H/h romance that’s even sweeter, with baby dramedy).
👄Can I Come Over, by Whitney G (“jumping my BF’s dad” comedy hotness with novella efficiency)
