Resumen del Editor

Lexi Morgan has always had "The Touch;" the ability to pick up an object and 'see' its past. Doomed to wearing protective gloves at all times, she learned to accept it as equal parts gift and curse. When her brother in law Neil disappears, she'd rather tell her sister to celebrate than try to help find the jerk. But after her young niece vanishes as well, it's time to put her gift to good use and help track her down, especially when handsome Detective Gabriel Ryan takes over the case. When the investigation leads them to the restless spirits of long dead children, they must work together to keep history from repeating itself before it's too late.

the touch

I really enjoyed this book. I found it hard to put down or even take a break. I wish it had a bit more paranormal activity in it, but it was very well written and read.

Just wow!

This definitely peaked my interests with its paranormal mysterious vibe, and mild romance. Andi Arndt, as usual performed beautifully. The creepy vibe that played through this whole audible had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I almost felt like it was watching a scary movie. With its highly anticipated last chapter in finding out “who did it, and why”? It kind of left a bad taste in my mouth with how it ended. No explanation or anything. I still enjoyed it.

Not my style but I liked it!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would tell my friends the concept of the story and let them decide if they want to read it. I'm not big on romance stories but Lisa blends it along with the suspense well.

What other book might you compare The Touch to and why?

None come to mind - as I said, this really isn't my style of book overall so I don't know of any other supernatural romance books.

Which character – as performed by Andi Arndt – was your favorite?

Detective Cooper. I knew too many of those types of guys in college and she nailed down their blind sense of self worth perfectly in her tone.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. It was a quick and light story that I think I would have enjoyed more than doing my usual routine of listening to audio books while driving over long distances.

Any additional comments?

This was an interesting blend between supernatural and romance - especially a new/budding relationship. My personal taste would be for more spooky and less romance but for those who enjoy a balanced combination of both, this is a good book.

A Few Holes, But Pretty Good

Lexi Morgan's hands have an incredible power; when she touches an object it's history is transmuted into her. Her Sister Allison and her husband and child are in the midst of a severe crisis; including living in a haunted house. Lexi's niece Chloe has evidently inherited some paranormal abilities of her own because she is being afflicted by ghosts. When Allie's husband and Chloe's father is found in the trunk of his car, then Chloe goes missing, obviously something is not right in River City. There are huge holes in the plot and bright people doing stupid things for no apparent reason. On the positive side Lexi is a spirited offbeat character and Gabriel the cop isn't too much of a cliche. The narrator Andi Arndt does an excellent job; it's not too strong of a recommendation but it is a recommendation.

A complete fail!

This book had so much potential but completely failed in plot, character development, research and any sense whatsoever! It’s like an inexperienced teenager wrote this book. The BEST thing about this book is the narrator, Andi Arndt. She’s the only reason why I listened to the book in its entirety.

Issues:
1- Your daughter is missing but you have a slumber party and paint your toes with your sister and no one calls the FBI?! Sure…
2- You have a special gift for “seeing things” but you don’t use it to check everyone around you…especially when you know your family has a history of mental health issues and 2 people in your immediate family are missing; 1 being a child.
3- In the middle of an investigation, you flirt with the detective who suspects your sister and for absolutely no reason, he trusts you with career ending info on said sister! Sure…
4- How does a woman carry a grown man from a house and into a trunk? Sure…
5- Basically everything after the first 3 hours is absolute GARBAGE!

I expect fictional implausibility at times, but ma’am, it should also make reasonable sense. Instead of buying this book, use the $7.49 to buy something else worth your time and money. This book is most certainly not it.
